failure to start

2024 w 8000 miles. would not start like battery was dead. after 2 hours is started but a warning light stating pull over and the check engine light was on. Dealer can't find the problem. Anybody else have this?

Get rid of that sorry excuse for a battery Ford put in and get yourself an AGM H4 size replacement. Amazon has them and they fit without any modification. Your mind will soon be clear of the anxiety of a unreliable battery. Truck will start every time, door locks will work correctly, and interior lights will come on when starting at night. Worth every penny and Amazon has them for around $110.
NOTE: Amazon will post a "Does not fit your Maverick" warning, but ignore it. Your 24 Maverick did not come factory with an AGM battery, so Amazon is just following specs. It will fit.

Do it. Dealer will cost you more time that you can't get back. $110 means you have a life back. A fix regarding this issue is on its way by Ford. They said sometime during the first quarter.

Recent recall is for EB. Weird because the hybrid needs it more.

FYI, Amazon doesn't currently have this H4 size. I bought one in November for $111 but it did not fix my no-start problem. Three no-starts since 1/15/25, two with the original battery and one with the Uplus. The original battery is back in because of an upcoming service appointment.

I do not have a resolution at this time.

Hopefully the software fix coming within the next 2 months will fix your problem.

Sorry that didn't help. Obviously, it's a matter above and beyond just the battery. This should be fixable somewhere along the line. Please keep us informed . . . it will prove valuable to others who might be experiencing the same problem.

OP has a Hybrid. Not the same 12 volt battery in that recall.

The CEL turned off by the time you went to dealer?

Normally their nicer scanners could still read a history trouble-code.
Be very odd to turn on the CEL and not store something.
Or the no start and CEL were both part of same glitch - and understandably hard to track down if gone now.

Cheap ones will usually do pending and active codes, not sure if the AutoZone's, Advanced, O'Reilly's use cheap or nice ones.

Had the same exact thing happen to mine (22 XLT Hybrid) about a month ago. Light went off after a couple of miles. But two weeks later the light came back on. Before I could call my mechanic, it was off again. Today, the dash flashed when I tried to start it but the second try worked. Called the dealer and I'm taking it in next week.

I'm going from "absolutely love this truck" to "uh oh" pretty fast.

Related or unrelated, my mpg had dropped about 25% in the last 2 months. Yes it's cold, but that seems like a lot.

The 25% figure is not unusual. My mpg goes from 22-23 to 18-19 at this time of year.
