Anyone found the external speaker in hybrids that makes the backup chime or subtle tone that lets pedestrians know you’re approaching while in EV mode?

Anyone found the external speaker in hybrids that makes the backup chime or subtle tone that lets pedestrians know you’re approaching while in EV mode?

It's buried in front of the drivers side front tire behind the bumper. There are lots of screws and tight quarters to get at it. Somebody does make a device that replaces the speaker and does not trip a check condition but the speaker is a PITA to get to. Probably legal issues with disabling it too.

I'm just glad it's not as annoying and LOUD as a stupid backup sound on a dump truck or trash truck.

That's due to OSHA requirements that equipment backup alarms be "audible above surrounding noise level" which, in accordance with general sound exposure regulations, may be 90-95db for an 8-4 hour work period. As such most SAE/OSHA satisfying backup alarms are typically 97db+.

Not sure about other back up alarms on Mavericks but my 22 XLT sound like a train engine bell l Love it

Sounds like a space ship to me. I think they had the Area 51 paint in mind when they made the sound. Someone in my area has a F-150 powerboost. It has a backup sound too, but it's different.
