I’m getting calls from Ford selling me the extended warranty. I’m considering it although my last couple of Ford trucks were pretty good in that regard. But this is full if electronic gadgetry.

which warranty makes sense to buy? I figure 100k or 10 years.

Thoughts?

I'd get the warranty if you plan on keeping for an extended time. Rember the electronics associated with the hybrid system is covered for , I believe 8 years 100k miles Based on all the issues and the recent record of poor quality, I decided on the extended warranty for the first time for any vehicle. Only my second Ford, and I felt it absolutely necessary based on my past experience. I've purchased many new vehicles over my lifetime with few issues.

Depends upon how long you plan on keeping the truck, but I bought the discounted one online for my 2023 and now they’ve doubled the price of that contract parts are gonna be more so I even bought the maintenance agreement and that’s now doubled in price as well since 2023.
pretty much everything on my truck is covered for 10 years 100,000 miles with zero deductible and the two agreements cost me around $4000 but now I don’t have to worry about anything
That’s just my plan

If it is a PremiumCare warranty through Ford I don't believe $0 deductible is an option for 100k coverage. Only $100 deductible.

Yeah, I think they removed the no deductible option in 2024. It’s just one way to put a handle on perhaps spiraling parts and labor costs. I know I’m gonna run the wheels off this truck so I’m happy to be covered for everything when my dealer sees me coming he knows he’s not getting a penny out of me. It all has to come from Ford.

Awesome if you got $0 deductible. Wasn't an option in 2023 for my Tremor for 10 year/125k - it was the $100 deductible.

The fact extended warranties are needed is a sad commentary on the quality of the product.

Not all service managers treat the Ford warranties the same. I used to drive around 40k miles per year and would get a 100k miles/3 year warranty. They usually had to look up the price because 3 years wasn’t standard for the 100k. I had a Ford Freestyle, a big station wagon kind of SUV with a 3 liter v6 ,CVT, and a Haldex AWD. It was based on a Volvo XC90 but Ford added some extra length to the front and rear subframes. I kept that car for over 200k miles. But it had a problem with the Cvt where it threw a wrench light with no real issues with the car. The service manager at that dealership didn’t take any deductible. The car was in their shop about a dozen times and I never paid a penny. They had to send the tech to CVT school. They put a box under the seat that plugged into the obd port to record data. When Ford finally figured out that there was a manufacturing defect in the Cvt input shaft that destroyed an o-ring which caused pressure fluctuations and caused the wrench light the service managers called and said they finally had a fix for the problem. This all started at 60k which is why it was out of lemon territory. By the time it was over the Cvt mechatronics were replaced 3 times and I had put over 10k miles on over 6 or more different loaners. The not taking a deductible was for all customers with the ford service plans. The service manageris the most important person at the dealership.

That is also why I will never buy the first run of a new car ever again. It was hard waiting for the 25 maverick.

I paid $38,300 for my Maverick.

If it was priced at $40,425 and came with an 8 year/100k mile bumper to bumper warranty I would have been perfectly fine paying that price.

Essentially that is what PremiumCare is.

Not sure I would buy 1st production year again. Bought the 1st year Escape (2001) and did have a couple of big issues. The Escape back then was designed by Mazda with some parts (engine/drivetrain) supplied by Ford for Escape. 1st was the rear end being replaced with a few months of purchase (1st one delivered to my dealer). Rear end howl whenever it power was sent to the rear end... Howl like a rear end with many mile. The 2nd was the sunroof track broke. Dealership was able to get it close and thru Ford, you had to buy the entire sunroof unit, not just the track. Since well over 36,000 miles, I went to a local sunroof store and they were able to locate one from a wreck, but recommended I check with Ford for the manufacture of the sunroof. Did and they directed me to the company that made the roof unit for Mazda. Talked to them and they said that they had not heard of no issues like this (I had given them the name of the company that were going to do the work, and they actually called them to find out exactly where it broke). They graciously agreed to send them the track at no cost to me... Just had to pay for installation. I found out later that Ford/Mazda had superseded the part number for the rack with a new part number. Never heard of a problem like that, when why the hell did they come up with a new part number. Was quite suspicious at the time that they agreed to the free track so readly...

I purchased my real ford warranty when I picked up our 25 in April. 10/100/0 deductible from Granger. I also added the extra lighting rider as the led headlights on the lariat are over $1000!

The warranty was the same price regardless of trim so the bang for the buck is best with a loaded lariat.

Buying a 10 year warranty now covers parts and labor at today’s prices. No doubt the warranty price and parts and labor costs will continue to go up, so I saw no reason to wait until the standard warranty expired. Known risk with a potentially high reward. The zero deductible means I will have no issue bringing it in for even minor issues.
