Odd but my dealer did not offer a Ford Plan, instead they tried to sell another extended warranty from a company I wasn't familiar with. Think CarSheild or something like that. I did not opt for it and am waiting to see how the 1st year or two pans out. If the time comes and I opt for it I'm almost positive it will be from Granger of Flood.
My dealer tried to sell me there own plan. If you were not familiar with the Ford ESP you would never have known. I asked if it was a Ford plan that's when they told me they sell those too. So far I have not gotten one. I am concerned about all the electronics.

My first Mav XL I bought ESP 900$
Second Mav Lariat they pushed for ESP 4500$, they got down to 2800 and I still said no. They did get me with the paint protection for 350 that I can't tell if anything was done. Owell. 2 Mav family now.

I had X-Plan on my Mav, so thankfully the entire closing process was very simple and very fast. The conversation about the extended warranty went like this:

Finance Guy: You should buy an extended warranty...
Me: Yes, I would like one. Can you match Flood's pricing? If so, sign me up, please.
Finance guy: Oh... No... We can't. You should just purchase it from them...
Me: Sounds good... You about done?

X-Plan is legit... When my Mav arrived I told the sales guy exactly what I wanted when I came in (already had financing secured through a credit union that worked with the dealership) and requested that all the paperwork and everything be ready to go. Showed up, test drove it, paperwork for 5 minutes, out the door with keys. It was incredible. Between ordering it in Oct. of 22 and delivery in Nov. of 23, I spent about an hour in the dealership combined (and a few weeks worth of cumulative time stalking the tracker). ~$500 under MSRP.

TLDR: Flood is best for extended warranty.

Did anyone try to terminate their extended warranty? Had my Maverick for 6 months and it was totaled when I guy ran a stop sign. Trying to get a refund on the extended warranty, filled out the form 7 weeks ago and can’t get anyone to give me info on it .

There is no need to purchase an ESP at the time you purchase your Maverick.

The vehicle is covered bumper to bumper 3 years or 36k miles (whichever comes first).

Before surpassing one of those milestones, you need to purchase an ESP.

Why not see how the first 2 - 2.5 years go before investing an unnecessary amount up front? Especially if you are financing in these "higher" rate times.
Correct. I did Flood for my F250 diesel. What I learned is the mileage and time of the purchased starts when ordered, even tho your new vehicle has a 3-36 factory warranty in effect. I waited till my F250 reached just short its 3 yr or 36k mikes term, then applied for the ESP or Ford Protect plan.

if you reach the limits of the 3-36 warranty, and try for ESP, they will rated the vehicle as a “used” vehicle, and the owner will have to have vehicle inspected by dealer, seek report, submit it before the ESP approved.

My Maverick has a dealer inspired Forever Warranty, but only for power train. Might consider Protect plan later. wife has an 2017 Escape, but she will not subscribe to a Protect plan. Been lucky with this one, so far.

As far as the F250, used the ESP once, only paying the $100 deductible. The exhaust gas cooler sooted up, clogged. It was replaced. I’m sure if not fir that ESP, probably big bucks my pocket.

Yup my dealer offered me Zurich which is a fairly legitimate company but it was about $3000 and the Ford plan through Grainger was like $1400 so I went that route. We got an Ally plan with the Trax, hope to never need it but I don't trust the reliability with the Daewoo roots of GM Korea.

The dealer gave me a quote for the Ford plan, but it was too much $$. I decide to check with the onsite vendor Granger Ford and their price was significantly better. I bought the 96 month 100,000 mile Premiumcare W/Roadside for $1465. That was about 2/3rds of what the dealer wanted.

I ordered early Sept, 2021 got my truck 97days later on Dec 15th, 2021 (my birthday). Did not get extended warranty. On 1/30/2024 with just 15k miles on it, I decided with all the Hybrid electronics maybe I should get an extended warranty. Went to dealer and got 84 month Ford Protect plan to 75,000 miles for $2620.00 or 31.19 per month and with truck paid off does not seem like a big deal.

If I do the mileage math, 7yr*my average7500 per year=52,500 miles plus the 15k when started takes me to 67,500 total miles. And yes, I guess I lost my 3rd year factory warranty but long term care is more important. Truck has been trouble free.

I wonder if the premiums are different depending on whether it's a hybrid or Ecoboost?

I got one from my Credit Union (Kinecta FCU) here in Cali. It's a 7 year, 105k mile warranty with $0 deductible. Paid around $1700.
