Experience with Maverick FX4 off road?

I guess doing oil changes, transmission fluid changes, PTU fluid changes, RDU fluid changes, AND changing one of those felt panels (that I ripped off road) makes me not know anything about what's on the underside.

You must've missed the big metal skid plate on the 25+. Don't act like you're the only one under the vehicle, I've spent plenty of time with mine on the lift too. Sorry you hit something, it didn't hurt the "evap canister" or whatever else you can make up that the skid plate covers. There's something missing between your version and mine

Not trying to get involved here, but there may be some misunderstanding. That was what BGN was trying to say in the first place: metal skid plate in front, but all brake lines, fuel lines, etc, running from the back of the truck are only covered by that felt panel.

Every other vehicle runs lines out in the open, it's not a big deal. It's for mpg, not protection

What kind of luck have you folks had with the fx4 package on 2 tracks and rutted roads, I on occasion go fishing and hunting off of 2 tracks in the woods. Currently have a ranger and am looking at an xlt ecoboost fx4. How about any issues with ground clearence?

You can overcome the felt issue by getting a fabbed full body skid plate. I have a 2" lift on rear and a 1" level kit in front. Also put 32" tires on the rig so she goes where I tell her in the woods.

There are some good videos on the subject. I was just browsing for one I'd seen awhile back on YouTube, there are tons there. Some are better than others. This guy puts his FX4 to the test and has some good advice for off-roading in these little trucks.

His success was due in large part to the AT3's. And the fiber underbody covers are for aero, not sound control.
