Through the BMS, it will not charge beyond whatever is set in ForeScan, probably 65-75%. If the charger bypasses the BMS, you won't see that in ForeScan, that read the values from the sensors/modules for awhile:

*-Why would the system need eight hours to calibrate the battery state of charge is beyond me. Especially, when a small battery tester can do that in less than a minute, that includes opening the hood...

You can fully charge the battery by bypassing the BMS, but give it time until the battery is calibrated. Theoretically, the truck's charging system could overcharge the battery in that case, without calibration, but it's doubtful.

I'll be damned, if I install a battery tender/trickle charger. Less than a year old and need to do that to keep the battery happy? NFW... I'd rather sell it in the spring and buy a Ridgliner that does not have similar issues.
Yep, went down that rabbit hole. Charged both ways and left at least 8 hours so it can relearn the state of charge. Still no working auto start stop and still nothing above 60-65%, even bypassing the BMS.

That's strange, one could take out the battery and charge it to 100%. Wild guess, the charging system have a load shedding function as well?

My auto start stop, idling start stop as Honda calls it, does not work either. I guess this impacts the mileage and explains why my Maverick has 17-19 ml/g in the city...

The 60-75% charge is not fully charged, instead, it is perpetually undercharged and never reaches the full saturation. As such, sulfation starts to set in earlier, than with fully charged batteries where sulfation is minimal. It's ironic that Ford would have a charging system that "enhances" sulfate crystals to form, rather than minimizing it.

For people in the cities with short trips, like myself, it's even worse. A 2-4 miles round trip, with traffic, seldom allow the charging system to maintain the battery. At times, the engine doesn't even warm up fully for the first leg of the trip most of the times, much less charge the battery substantially. Maybe I'll get on the highway for shopping two - three towns over to charge up the battery...
