I bought some black carbon tape to protect the bottom kick panel of my doors. I have a tendency to kick open the door when I get out of the vehicle and it’s creating dirt and scratches. So I thought I would try black carbon tape but it will not stay stuck onto the panel, any suggestions? I am thinking that someone could produce on their 3-D printer clips with a panel cover that would stay in place.
I remember when I started driving, most cars came with carpeting on the lower portion of the interior door panels. Maybe it should be at least optionally available.

I was thinking the boating product called Sea Deck would be a cool option

I'm just trying to picture kicking a car door open with one's foot. I've never even considered doing that because it would scar up the door in a short time.
I do it sometimes. It happens. Rarely. But most of the time when people do it, it's right where the speaker is too because they are usually low and on a part where your foot can rest to keep the door open or nudge it fully open. So now you have a grille getting debris in it and scratched up too.

I don't do it anymore.

It's a little funny that none of those are FORD's lol. You just like to watch the world burn or what? :ROFLMAO:

*Edit, just noticed we got new smileys so I'm gonna drop this one too
:ontheloo:

After 2 days with my new Maverick, I quickly realized the lower driver's door panel would be a wreck within a short time. A protector that isn't as easily scratched as the door plastic would be great, but I also accepted the fact that the lower panel is going to look like crap no matter what

Adhesive felt pads.
Do you have pictures of it in use? I'm thinking about getting a roll and applying it to that area.

I remember when cars and trucks, had carpet on their door cards.

Seems that the interior sill (right where her foot is) is what gets scuffed up the most.
Good luck

Did you ever find anything that worked? Were you thinking the clip would clip into the cup/bottle holder in the door?

I am looking for something for this as well.
I found this one, but I'd rather have a clear film I cut out custom or something much cheaper than that.

The Maverick Is a truck, I’ve got a few boot scuffs on mine.
It gives it that lived in look. My lariat is not a show truck.
It’s a truck, with carpet, should’ve been rubber floors and metal kick panels.

I use a sheet of clear PPF (paint protection film)
If you have a vinyl wrap installer around where you live. You maybe able to get some scrap ppf and cut your own?
Remember to prepare the surface otherwise it will not stick. If you've used any spray vinyl protector on the kick panel the PPF will not stick.

PPF prior to wipe down 👇

One of these days I'll cut a new piece and change it out.

That would be awesome if someone did. My kid uses her shoes constantly on the newer cars, but doesn't on the 66 Galaxie or the 36 Buick (at least I've not seen any marks....)
Have you tried this?
