Hello all I just recently received my hybrid maverick and am thoroughly enjoying it. Have been buying all the little mods I can think of and I’m noticing the lift of the leg to get in is a bit more than you would expect and even I’ve dragged my foot a few times on the sill of the door (I think you would call it.) my mom is definitely gonna have trouble with this leg lift so I’m trying to find something I can stick on to protect it or atleast collect the scufs. I’m mostly concerned with the inner plastic side, less concerned with the outer metal. Everything I’m finding online either is more meant to protect the outer metal side or I’m just unsure of how well it would secure to the ribbed portion of the sill. Hoping to get some referrals from you guys. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mabett makes a piece that protects the ribbed portion of the plastic. At the same time, Most of those protectors that can fit on the metal also fit on the plastic too. Its mostly just a tape that you can apply.

What would I search for it? Also would you suggest that specific one?

I agree with you the metal portion of the door sill doesn't get a whole lot of abuse like the plastic and possibly the weather stripping in the picture that I posted.
I am temporary testing
Grip tape on the actual metal sill that doesn't really need any protection and used a thin light adhesion plastic sheet similar to but not PPF across the plastic sill and the weather strip.

I took this picture this morning as you can see most of the drag marks are on the plastic and across the weather strip.

mabett is sold through amazon. Otherwise just door entry guard. You can also add extra descriptors for colors if there is something specific you want.

Very very insightful! Thank you so much for the extensive response brother! I was willing to settle on letting the weather strip get a little bit of a beating but this might do the trick. Yeah, the plastic seems like it’ll end up being permanent mark city if I don’t address it asap.

Fact is, the plastic sill gets alot more scuff marks than the metal sill.
If you want clear over the blue plastic. You may to find a place that does PPF wrapping. Asking if they have any scraps that you can take. With PPF you may not want to wrap over the weather stripping. You may want to tuck it behind the weather stripping. It's going to be tough to do.
What I actually used for my test was our thinnest laminate we would use to laminate over printed graphics for vehicle or ATV or jet ski use.

These are nice and since they are larger, do a much better job of coverage. They weren't available back in 2022 otherwise I would have strongly considered them. Not too many accessories for the Maverick were available until later. Thanks for posting.
I have these and like them. Got them with my FordPass points.

Ya, they look great and the coverage is adequate. I was very disappointed with the ones I got from Ford. They were small and only covered a small portion of the sill. I couldn't return them so I decided to look for a larger cover that had a plain surface whereby I could put the Maverick logo on the top. Turned out Amazon had one for a Honda that fit the Maverick's sill. I've had no problems with them over the two years.

I used heavy duty packing tape lol. Also put it up where my seatbelt hits.

Here's hoping the 2028's have upgrade interior plastics.

Hello,

Below is the link for the Mabett piece that goes over that plastic area. I can't speak for how good it is as I have it scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. But wanted to make it easy for you to find it if you decide to get it. I can however say how pleased I am with the Tuffskinz door sill protectors from ford.com.
Have a great day.
