148 lb/ft seems like an awful lot, especially for a lightweight truck.
I agree.
I loosened all and re-tighten them same way I have for the last 50 years.💪🏻
I haven't had any come loose.

This 👇🏻setup has served me well.

Don't forget to keep a LONG breaker bar and 21mm socket in the truck also. Lug nuts are torqued to 146 ft/lbs ... I keep a 24" ratchet in the truck for that
Better yet, a 13/16" socket. It will be tighter.

It's silly. I rotate my own tires and tighten mine "as much as I can." I'm not in my 70's but I still seriously doubt I am reaching 146 lb/ft. No issues here.

One of the many reasons I bought a 2025 Hybrid AWD Lariat with 4K tow package instead of waiting until 2026. Standard spare under the bed and jack/tools. It makes me crazy that the auto industry has moved away from spares and tools.

I think it's a token to the ineptness of the newer generations. Most have no mechanical experience, no idea how to use tools or don't want to get their hands dirty. If they can't solve their problem with a spray can and a smart phone they're up a creek.
Right. It couldn't possibly be that manufacturers have to reduce vehicle weight to hit fuel economy averages, or are doing it to cut costs, or anything like that...

You are among the minority of your peers if you were born in '92.
Nah, I wasn't born in '92. I just find generalizations silly, especially when there are documented explanations that don't play into tiresome stereotypes. ;)

Mine is an Atlas Priva C/S, 215-60-17. Never heard of them!
Mine is the same. I thought maybe because I have Atlas Blue 😆 but judging by your frame color that perspective doesn't work for your Maverick 😀

Yes it does but lightweight is subjective. My F150 Cat scaled 4000, 110 pounds heavier.

I recently got a irreparable gash in one of my tires. I was surprised to discover that my Mav doesn't have a jack, let alone a spare of any kind. Roadside assistance wasn't possible. I had to borrow a jack to get the wheel off. Apparently a jack is now an option on most new vehicles. Who knew?. FYI I bought a dealer pre-ordered 2026 Lariat Hybrid. It does have an air pump and a seal kit which weren't much use to me in this instance. If you live remotely, be forwarned.
Pretty sure mine has a jack, but I also carry a two-ton compact trolley jack with my road tools under my covered bed...because I've NEVER trusted the factory jack in any car...and that's going back to bumper jacks...

My spare tire is an atlas also.

Atlas spare tire is made by Ling Long Tire Manufacturing China
I haven't checked any of the reviews. Nothing outstandingly bad on the internet about them.

Nothing could have been worse than the Continentals, I had put on my Ford Sport Trac. Absolutely crappy tires absolutely no grip what or dry.
Before I sold the Sport Trac. I put cheap Summit Cascade tires on it and they were wonderful.🤷‍♂️

It's the spare. Tires mounted are Goodyear Terrain RT AT, M&S 235-65-17.

Another thread way back - someone looked up the specs on the bolt/nut used.

The 148 happened to be their max torque.
Which seemed strange that a desired torque for the wheels was obtained with bolts that maxed out at it.
Instead of normally seen bolt/nut maxes out above the spec'd desired torque.

As with other mistakes seen in the manual - was the torque specs given merely a mistake copy/pasting the bolt max value?

Since F150 has same torque given - does it use same bolt/nut with same max?

The result of that thread and analysis with clean lubed threads - was 111 ft-lbs would be equal.
I've done that. Still use torque wrench to keep it equal. No problems.
