Does the new Mav have a timing chain? I am thinking yes because its based off the Prius engine. Just want someone to confirm as this could be a make or break for me.

It is a chain but it is not a Toyota Prius engine. The engine was developed in cooperation with Mazda back when Ford owned a big chunk of Mazda. The engine series is called Duratec 25. Had a different name in Mazdas. Was used in the Miata for years.
