Makes sense, the truck is faster than light.Looks like that picture was taken when the truck was stopped. Once you get going, the light is shining on the road where you were, not directly under the truck anymore. Nothing to worry about.
You’re assuming the tag light CAN be considered “ground lighting”. Typically speaking, the laws in this area is vague. So, If you have a ridiculous ground lighting kit, you’re the one who stands out. If your tag light lights up the ground some, and it’s clearly the tag light I don’t think that would catch any one’s eye.Ya the pic was taken when the truck was in my driveway... But the light is going to always shine in the same place at the bumper of the truck.. Whether ur moving forward or stopped.. The light is going to move with u.. Not trail behind u cuz ur moving forward..
If 2 identical cars are both doing 10-15 miles over the speed limit... And one has let's say green ground effects light shining on the road under the car.. Which one do u think a police officer is going to notice more to possibly pull over the one that looks like almost every other random car n the road or the the one that has something that makes it stand out to the others driving down the road
Yea, I agree, it is kind of sloppy engineering. The light that lights up the back license plate shines on the road below the bumper.. I don't know why but it just kinda bugs me.. Knowing the road below the back bumper is being lit up as ur driving... First thing that pops in my mind is that at night it looks out of the ordinary and might make a cop take a second look at u while driving.![]()
You're not fooling me. You are just hoping someone with OCD doesn't take their truck so you can get another one.The light that lights up the back license plate shines on the road below the bumper.. Are drugs involved? It bothered me too. Ya’ know what I did? I thought I’d have the bulb removed and reinstalled under the license plate and position it the shine ‘up’ rather than down. That’s when the journey started! I couldn’t find an assembly that was shrouded in a way that allowed it to shine upwards rather than down. I couldn’t find a machine shop locally (in the Chicago area) but I did find one in Germany. So I had a mechanical engineer draw up what I needed to get designed and manufactured. I jumped on a plane and brought the old assembly and the drawing to the machine shop in Germany. I assumed it would be done in a day or two. I figured I’d just get a room an do some tourist stuff for a couple days. They told me it would be 4-6 weeks!! No way I’m renting a room for a month or so, so I went back to the good ole USA. It ended up taking them 10 weeks.
Thank God I didn’t stick around.
I took the new ‘up’shining fixture back home and realized there was nowhere to mount it. UNbelievable!!!! I contacted the place in Germany that did the bulb fixture only to discover theh only do small work and they couldn’t help me. They did recommend a place that could, so I contacted them. They said they’d be happy to help, but I’d have to bring the entire bumper so they could determine the best place to mount the light assembly, so I had the dealer remove it for me. That’s when I found out the only way to get it to the 2nd machine shop in Uzbekistan was by ship, so I sent the bumper to them. It took two months to clear customs, but they finally got it. Then they told me we should meet before they start work so we could discuss exactly what I wanted and needed. I flew to meet them. This journey required an overnight flight, two connections, a taxi and a 6 mile ride in a mule drawn cart. More to continue………
Proof of the light in my frig .. door open, door closed, door open!!!!Wow. Me too. I have the same problem with the light in the refrigerator shining on the shelf. It is so much light!
I can't tell if the light is spread out on the road once the truck is moving. The faster it goes, the more it spreads out. Maybe it is? Does yours behave like this?
So if light is traveling at the same speed as the maverick how long before the light builds to super nova brightness?Mostly right of all the answers so far.
