I see a lot of posters are contacting their dealers for production information on their Mavericks. Do you think it really helps talking with your dealer to move your Maverick up the production schedule or is it a crap shoot and you should sit back and wait for those e-mails from Ford?

Sit back...until it gets close. It's been 14 months for my wait...so far. You see a lot of activity from those of us with rolled over or cancelled orders as there is a lot of extra crap we are going through.

If you ordered this last September, settle in for a long wait and if Ford is keeping you on their email list, patience is the key.

No, keep calling Ford customer service weekly on the status of your order.

My first dealer was like talking to a fence post. Never a straight answer. My recent dealer answered all my questions. They have been great, very helpful and informative. They follow the guidelines of Ford. Invited me to call weekly.

My sales manager has gotten a couple emails a day before I got them from Ford. That Smart Ford, South Boston VA. They also told me how many allocations they had at the time I placed the order.

Also my Maverick lx hybrid was the only one they have that got scheduled last time we talked. It's on a rail car heading to Virginia now.

Dont bother the dealer. They dont make enough money on a Mav to care.

I stop in and see my dealer all the time (they're close to work). He knows that I'm going to be in asking questions so I've trained him to get the answers in advance. Sometimes I get information from the Long Mcarthur livestream (on right now) and surprise him.

I kept in contact, every few months. They didn't have much more info than what I was getting, but would share what they knew about others waiting.

The dealership has been really great to us over the years - bought my first vehicle from them in 1987 and have bought all but 1 time from them - so your mileage may vary...

Not really much at all the dealer can do to speed things up (other than advising you to drop constrained items). You can check with your dealer about your priority code. And see if they have allocations remaining in the month (these are generally given out on a monthly basis).

Other than that, the information that the dealership has access to is the same as the info the people you call (or chat with) at Ford CRC have access too.

Remember, the ordering for the entire model year took place in less than a week. Scheduling and building will be stretched out over a longgggg time.

My experience was not good with the dealer. It was like pulling teeth. I wondered if they really wanted to make the sale or not. Picking it up was not an easy process either.

Salesmen aren't really equipped to answer the type of questions you're likely to pose. Thankfully my dealer has a great internet sales manager and she's highly responsive to queries, even answering text messages quickly. I also think that she's not handling hundreds of prospective Maverick owners.

In short - no. In long - If you follow this forum regularly and watch Tim from LM you know more than 99.9% of dealership folks to start with. After waiting a year for my truck the only thing that the dealership was helpful on was getting the tracking number for the train ( and I had to ask 3 different times ) . I have seen so much BS on this forum coming from what folks always say first - "my dealer" followed by lies, misinformation, and or / ignorance not to mention most dealerships dont care until the truck is on their lot and they can push - extended warranties, perma plate, vin etching, nitrogen tire filling, magic ceramic coating, gap insurance, high doc fees or the worst ........ wait for it ....... " Market Adjustments" dealing with dealerships is somewhat like what parole officers go through - you know the person you are talking to will lie to you many times but trying to separate fact from fiction is the hardest part. If your salesman doesn't do this then get ready to meet Mr or Ms finance guy ..............

My dealer wasn't useful and I never got any emails from Ford. Thankfully since then people on this forum have shared other methods like calling Ford customer service directly which seem to be somewhat better

I've maintained a solid working relationship with our small local dealership since buying our F-150 4 years ago. Sales, Service, Parts department all have some good people, and the occasional dud. We share information back and forth all the time and run into each other around town. Same family owners since Day 1 and their sales terms clearly stated and reasonable with no bidden BS or ugly surprises. Salespeople are not 100% commission and ownership emphasizes repeat business over squeezing customers out of every penny on every deal. I grew up with the adversarial negotiating model for decades and this model is working just fine for the current environment we live in.

Ford told me to contact dealer, to be changed to priority 99, so ford would know in system I was a rollover. After being told numerous times by dealer that they could not change the priority code from 19, I spent about an hour at dealer & talked w/ sales manager, who said the guy who enters the order would see if a priority change "Would stick", because in the past it would not allow to change. Following morning was informed by dealer that system allowed them to change to priority 10. I called Ford they gave me the vin #'s on daughters and mine. Bother are ecoboost. Hope info helps you. There seems to be alot of conflicting information amongst /between dealer & Ford at times, so I'm not sure on all of it. Someone responded to message I had sent on my situation before, with the process, so may have better grasp on it. I can only say how my dealings have gone. Ford gave me scheduled build dates for week of January30th. ??? We shall see. Good luck!
