Stuck in Order Limbo? Not sure if your order has actually been placed? Generated an order but never got a response from Ford? Can't trust the info your dealer has given you? Contact Ford at the 800 help line. It will be worth a long wait on the phone.
I placed an order for a Lariat and made a $500 deposit on 09/01/21. This was all done over the phone. Never actually visited the dealership which is 75 miles distant. All I ever saw from the dealer (and only through text messages) was the "pre-orders" which show configuration and price, and usually show This is not an invoice or something similar in fine print at the bottom of the page. I made many calls and sent numerous texts to the dealer. I also contacted the dealer's Internet Manager. They kept claiming that my order had been submitted. What did that even mean? I never knew because I never received the response from Ford that everyone says you get soon after your submission. This "limbo" creates a situation that is frustrating enough - do I have a new vehicle coming or not? What bothered me even more is that I needed some kind of ball-park response from Ford in order to coordinate the sale of my current vehicle (which is necessary for my business), and to arrange for a bit of financing - all hopefully occurring at as close to the arrival of my new MAV as possible. My dealer just kept claiming my order had been submitted, and kept blaming the lack of response on some nebulous problem with the email system ?????? After a month I decided to take matters into my own hands and went to the the Ford help line to see if my order had, in fact, been put into the system.
After a long wait on the phone, a very helpful agent answered, and within a few minutes I was able to confirm that I was, in fact, in the system. This doesn't get me any build info at this stage, but at least I know my order has been acknowledged, and I AM in the system. If you are left in darkness about your build, don't hesitate to contact Ford. They can resolve your uncertainty and bewilderment. You will be glad you went to the trouble. There is still a lot of uncertainty in the system at present, but it's a relief to know that at least you're in play.
