Does Disabling Auto start/stop mess with battery BSM

Hello,
I was wondering if going into forscan and disabling auto start/stop would cause any issues with the BSM system or any systems at all for that matter. I read a bit of the f150 forums and they mentioned it could cause issues with their vehicle. I was wondering if the mav is the same. 25 lobo for reference if that matters. Thank you!

Any clue if by disabling A S/S , you lose the BSM? Because if it takes that offline I’ll just buy a physical plugin. But if it leaves the BSM fully functional I’ll go into forscan as soon as my OBD adapter comes in!

BMS is on by default. Disabling ASS doesn't get rid of it.

The reason I ask is bc for the F150s, to disable ASS in forscan you have to disable the BCM as well in same models from what I’ve read. If that’s the case w my Mav, I wouldn’t do it

I have to assume you're asking about BMS, Battery Management System. I don't know what BSM is unless it's "Body Security Module" or something?

For the Maverick, the settings aren't even in the same module. BMS configuration is in the BCM (Body Control Module) and ASS configuration is in the PSCM. They aren't related.

That’s what I was looking for. Yes Battery management goes hand in hand w ASS in some ford models. I just wanted to check! Thank you

They go hand in hand in that the BMS system in the BdyCM reports to other modules what the 12V battery SOC is.

Those modules decide if they are doing something with a value that goes under a limit they care about.

Like disable AS/S.

Like report an alternator charging issue.

Like if only in Accessory mode then turn the 12V system off.

Like enable Battery Saving features, eventually turning modem off.

And as 1 poster proved out - if a light is plugged into rear outlet - disable AS/S.

Since the BSM tells the truck to automatically deactivate the AS/S when the charge is low, I don't see why it matters.

The system you plug in are basically just pushing the auto start/stop button for you at start up. I have had one on a Bronco for about 9 months with 0 issues.
