Humm Anyone have a service manual for hybrid? I have the 22 eco boost pdf one BUT not hybrid version,. . I normally use the vacuum brake bleed kit I have and just suck the fluid out at rear calipers then front. BUT since hybrid mav uses some electric pump setup might not work?? I wonder.

I might have to buy the service manual for hybrid at 3 year point as that is when I ALWAYS flush brake fluid. YOu crazy after 3 years as that is considered the longest you want to wait.

ANYONE have the service manual for hybrid??? I here a lot of OPINIONS here but would like what Ford says to do. Maybe that one guy who is a Ford tech can reply. I don't remember his name
First Hybrid I had: 245,000 miles in 15 years. Zero brake fluid changes.

Second Hybrid I had: 155,000 miles in 15 years. Zero brake fluid changes.

Third hybrid I had, 44,000 miles.
1.5 years. Brake failure (guy behind me failed to brake and rear ended me!).

Fourth hybrid, 65,000 miles, 5 years old now. Zero brake fluid changes.

Fifth hybrid, 2022 Maverick, 58,000 miles. 3.5 years. Zero brake fluid changes. None on the agenda.
None needed.

I check the fluid level each oil change.
I live in a dry climate.

Some vehicles I've had for a while I could say I "never" changed the brake fluid as a specific standalone procedure. But every time I replaced pads, lines, calipers etc, I bled the lines until the fluid was clean, so actually I did.

For people who live in a "realer" part of the world with hills and rain and shit, you are probably best advised to change it on schedule.

Well that doesn't help much That is all it shows? I have the service manual for the 22 ecoboost and it shows a few ways to bleed the brakes.

This is Scan tool needed. I hope not I don't even own the forscan thing either. I wonder if it could be done with forscan which I still would need to get then .
Yes indeed, Forscan has a Brake Fluid Service Procedure. No pumping pedal, the automated procedure does it using ABS pulsing. No FDRS expensive tool needed. There are several YouTube Videos demonstrating the Forscan Procedure, including a Post in MTC:

Forscan can be used for MANY changes in your Maverick, as well as other Ford models. I've used it on F-150, F-350, wifes 2017 Lincoln, etc;

That's part of the brake maintenance mode from other video.
Supposed to disengage the EBB so it's not firing off clamping your fingers with the piston, and backing off the EPB max and prevent it from firing off.
Both cases allowing piston compression.

If no EBB - just the EPB.

Considering that one parasitic draw is the ABS firing off the EPB to check distance, constantly - it might be good after setting the mode, to still unplug the negative cable from battery.
Who'd thunk it - computers can go haywire!
