Best Scan Tool to Deactivate/Activate "Brake Maintanance Mode"

I have a 2022 Eco Lariat with an electric parking brake (EPB). Ford requires(?) that the brake fluid be flushed at 3 years so this may apply to anyone with a 2022. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to use the Brake Maintenance Mode procedure (Hitting the Start Button, Brake, Gas, etc.) to deactivate the system multiple times. On further research I discovered that there is a Special Services Message (SSM51217) from Ford that says some 2022 Mavericks do not respond to this procedure and requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool.

Questions:
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive scan tool to connect to a laptop that will work to deactivate/activate the Brake Maintenance Mode on a 2022 Maverick Eco Lariat with EPB?

To be clear I want to flush (all) the Brakes thru the ABS System.

Looking into this further I apparently need to be in ForScan's "ABS function / bleed" mode and select "Replace brake hose" and press OK. This will then allow me to select the wheel (RR,LR, RF or LF) I want to bleed thru the ABS system. The ABS system will then run the brake fluid thru the correct wheel - and, at the same time, another person will then open the Blake bleeder on that wheel and leave it open until the ABS system shuts off. The process is repeated for each wheel.

Now I need to get the OBDII USB Scan Tool Software to install on my laptop to connect ForScan to my Maverick - it's not properly installing and I'm working with the company in China - They have not responded yet - for some reason. (I'm hoping that the tariffs have not affected Chinese Customer service!)

If you have a vacuum bleeder powered by compressed air, you don't need any of that to bleed the brake fluid. First, suck out the MC to just before the line connections, then refill with DOT4LV fluid, and start at the passenger side rr wheel, then driver rr, then pass fr, and driver fr, refilling the MC as you go. Vacuum for about 1 min. on each wheel. You won't get the small amount of fluid in the ABS modulator solenoids, but it's not a big issue if you keep up with fluid changes, and activate your ABS on occasion.

Is it the actual Forscan package, or the driver for whatever adapter you got?

Curious too once you have it working, since I've only got Lite on Android, and it's missing the more serious procedures.
Did you have buy the Extended License package (perhaps you wanted it anyway for changes), or the normal package will allow access?
This different description makes it sound like the EL not required.

• Run test diagnostic procedures
• Run service procedures
• Configuration and programming functions (only in FORScan for Windows, require Extended License)

I just bled my mom's after perhaps 2 years when a shop supposedly did it, and either the tester reading of 4% was not accurate, or our high humidity around here acts fast.
(Forgot to test the new fluid for a tester check, think I'll try tonight)

To disable the EBB (Electronic Brake Booster) for those that have it - which the hybrid does.
But the battery disconnect mentioned takes care of that along with any EPB engagement.
The Car Care Nut gets into this for Toyotas which use the same type of system, he comments about just not opening the door while doing it, as that can cause vehicle to prep for driving by engaging the EBB, or battery disconnect as failsafe.

The manual instructions I gave comment on the EBB aspect.

All these extra steps are merely getting you closer to a shop following the procedure.
As was commented - not required for DIY. But the caveats should be mentioned, though neg battery disconnect takes care of them all.

I wasn't able to figure out how to remove the plastic screen under the reservoir cap and didn't want to force it. Just flushed more than normal amount of fluid.
