YouTube video by Bearded Ford techI have a 2022 Eco Lariat with an electric parking brake (EPB). Ford requires(?) that the brake fluid be flushed at 3 years so this may apply to anyone with a 2022. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to use the Brake Maintenance Mode procedure (Hitting the Start Button, Brake, Gas, etc.) to deactivate the system multiple times. On further research I discovered that there is a Special Services Message (SSM51217) from Ford that says some 2022 Mavericks do not respond to this procedure and requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool.
Questions:
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive scan tool to connect to a laptop that will work to deactivate/activate the Brake Maintenance Mode on a 2022 Maverick Eco Lariat with EPB?
E.g.,
Is the OBDlink SX Scan tool an option?
Is the OBDlink EX Scan tool an option?
He says you need to also be in brake service mode to do the front brakes?
