Hey everyone! So I’m a little concerned that I might’ve made a huge mistake. I ordered my Maverick hybrid September of 2022. I’d been getting my regular email updates until June 30 when I received the email (that I’m sure a lot of us did) stating that on the 17th I needed to contact my dealer about submitting a 2024 order to maintain my 2023 order. Otherwise it would be cancelled. Well, on the 13th I received and email that my Maverick was scheduled for production during the 2nd week of September. For some reason my small brain thought “cool, I don’t need to do anything” I’m now wondering if I made a huge mistake not reaching out to my dealer on the 17th. Am I screwed? Thanks in advance.

If you are scheduled, you are fine. Dealer doesn't need to do anything but sell it to you when it arrives.

Cancelling was for unscheduled orders.

My truck is also scheduled but not yet built. Sales guy said they were going ahead and placing a duplicate '24 order with the same order code as the '23, because they had people with VINs last year that didn't get built. He said that with the same order code, if for some reason my '23 didn't get built, that it would be built as a '24 model and I would get price protection from Ford. And if the '23 did get built, Ford would cancel the duplicate '24 order.

Up to you...

Since you are scheduled a MY24 order is not necessary. It was even discussed on Tims live stream last night. They will build all scheduled MY23s. If for some unknown reason they did cancel VINs Ford would handle the roll over but it seems unlikely VINs will get cancelled this year.

Aware of this. But my dealership already placed the backup order, and that's fine with me.

Ford seems to like playing mind games with ordering as I received Hybrid scheduled to week of 9-11 on 7-13 and so thought don't need to have dealer order a 2024. Then the tracker is back to just order confirmed. And it's Thursday so who knows what Ford is doing. Later will check with Ford chat to see what they say.

Get a VIN and you win.
I don’t know how ford handled the folks whose mavericks were lost in that train crash, but barring an act of god (e.g. the plant is sucked into a black hole) Ford will make you a 23, and my understanding is if they can’t they will do something to get you a maverick automatically in 24.

Wow, I thought I hit the unicorn lottery for the win, and am now driving it (XL, Hybrid, Hitch - all were constraints). According to your signature, you have 3 additional constraints (Tonneau, Splash Guards, Floor Mats), so it's not a "unicorn", but more like a "nanocorn". 🤣

I've not seen any other build on MTC that had that many contraints and still be scheduled. And congrats on your upcoming new ride - you'll love it.

Just playing the waiting game now for a bit longer, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
