... I know exactly how much it will cost me when it arrives unless there is a bonus rebate from Ford.

I have a copy of the order and a copy of COVP. I also have a small town dealer I trust that sells for MSRP price on the order, plus $129 doc fee. They stand by their word, so no need for anything else. There are still a few honest Ford dealers. A few.

I ordered a 24 XLT and dealer sent me build sheet and is asking for a deposit now is this normal ? Have to call them to see what there asking for deposit but was under impression that you did not need to put deposit down please tell me your exp.

don't think i'd pay a deposit and find another dealer to order from......people are waiting, in some cases over a year for the vehicle....the dealer will have no problem selling it in the event the order is refused.....i ordered two last year and refused the first....no problem from dealer

I had to give my dealer a $500 deposit. 10 months and waiting for a build next month. I would try and find a dealer who doesn't require a deposit. If you give a deposit, find out if it is refundable. That is one question I did not ask.

My dealer actually refused a deposit. We were just sitting on a little extra money at the time, and figured we'd go ahead and put some towards the truck. The dealer wasn't having it, and said we could pay when the truck showed up. Personally, I'd try to find a dealer that doesn't require a deposit, and if they do, make sure everything is in writing and signed by the sales manager.

First dealer I spoke to (my usual dealer) wanted a $500 deposit. Second dealer I called took my order over the phone with no deposit. I received Fords confirmation within 30 minutes. Calling tomorrow for paperwork.

Personally, I would not do business with a dealer asking for a $1K deposit on a Maverick order....refundable or not. I'd bet you that $1K, they will not do a signed buyers order either. If you haven't asked yet, do it before handing over any money.

I'd walk from these guys, plenty of good honest dealers looking to earn your business the right way.

$500 deposit at time of order. Put it on my Ford Visa. Order shows a $500 deduct on the total price. I have no problem with that 'cause my price is locked in. New '24 XLT. My '22 ordered thru same dealer with no issues.

Makes sense. A dealer wants to make sure you're committed to actually buying the thing and not just submitting multiple orders at multiple places.

That's a good time to get the out the door price in writing too so they can't surprise you when it comes.
