Any idea of “Brush guard/deer ram” add on? Hunting season starts soon and Bangbi will be on the move soon. Last year I saw four deer corpses in about a two mile stretch of road.

Reminiscent of the recent post on the collision between a Maverick and a school bus, a deer decided to cross a major highway here in NC about 12:30 Pm on a sunny day and hit the left front of my new Lariat (6,200 miles). The deer had the nerve to get up and walk away so I did not even get venison steaks out of his collision.

Repair cost: $11,215. Not cheap to repair a Maverick!

$11,000 seems too much! I don't see that much damage from the picture!
They don't actually fix things anymore and, they replace some parts "just in case" as I found out.
I asked to save the parts they took off and some of them were in great shape.

I'm skeptical about this report.

Surely that much damage would have totaled a maverick!
😱

I don't see 11k either, but you don't know what's under hood, I worked as a damage adjuster after I retired, I had a minivan that got hit on the side a Big buck went through the glass tearing up headliner with his horns scaring the crap out of driver, not much damage mostly glass and new headliner he jumped out the same window and trotted away but they couldn't get the stink out of the vehicle buck was in heat, I thought the shop was BSing me so I sent it to a great detailer I knew they shampooed that vehicle head to toe
still stunk, we ended up totaling it. Sold it for salvage got a great price, am sure someone is still diving it today.

My wife hit one of those Hooved rodents in our 2019 Outback a couple of years ago. Repair took several
months and over $14,000. All of the airbags went off which was about half the cost.

Did the airbags deploy? ✌
Yes. The one on the driver's side at my knees/feet went off.

Hope you got the Badlands 2.0l
Unfortunately when I was in the market the pickings were pretty thin. I ended up with a '22 Big Bend, with every option available that year. The 1.5L is fine overall. I did have the water pump replaced, but it was certified used, so under warranty for an extra year. Not planning to keep it long term, just through the end of the warranty.

Sorry to see your damaged new truck. It seems these deer are multiplying like crazy and just causing physical mayhem and sometimes injury. They seem more equivalent to tall legged rats!

What chaps my hide is that the perpetrators of these collisions always violate right-of-way and frequently leave the scene (without providing insurance information)

Maybe we need mods to make the Mavs more lethal to deer?
then just steak the perpetrators at the scene
would definitely cut down on recidivism
the doe that ambushed the Highlander sure looked familiar :)
