Got the letter from Ford saying I can schedule for the fix, and I called my dealership and they had to have someone call me back, looks like this recall notice is flagged in their system. My dealer offered to return my call when they can schedule an appointment for the two outstanding recalls.
My dealer in the Cincinnati area said even though Ford indicated the bags are available they won't get them for another month or so. Supply chain issue for a new item. Things take time. No biggee.Just posting this to see if anyone else has run into this. I recived another letter from Ford stating that the parts for my curtain airbag replacement under recall are now avaialble. I called my dealer to have them ordered and I was told that they cannot order them unless they are deployed. I told him that was BS and not what the letter from Ford stated. Has anyone ran into this? Should I call another dealership?

Ok, I messed around with the airbag recall parts order for my own hybird Maverick some more.
It turns out, SSSC wants a pdf of the open repair order submitted as the attachment.
After I did that... I was able to request the parts be ordered. I have not yet received a confirmation as to whether or not they will be actually be ordered for me. The message said that that confirmation (or request for more information) may take up to 2 hours.
I don't think that you can really blame this on the dealer. Ford didn't publish the necessary steps to order parts for the recall.
I will update here when I find out if the SSSC actually does process the order for me.
My suggestion would be to explain to the dealership that a dealer has posted on the forum that VIN-specific parts can be ordered through the SSSC, but that a copy of the open RO has to be attached (even though the FSA does not say that).
Just checked the "part info" on one of the side curtain airbags..... 18,500 of them currently in Ford parts depots!Meanwhile, my dealer just told me they have none in stock to order, even while my truck is sitting there.
Lmao. You can't make this up.
I'm sure the dealer doesn't have any airbags in stock. They need to order them from Ford on an individual basis.Meanwhile, my dealer just told me they have none in stock to order, even while my truck is sitting there.

Yes, they do need to order them, and I'd have no problem with that. I don't expect them to have the units on hand.I'm sure the dealer doesn't have any airbags in stock. They need to order them from Ford on an individual basis.
Call them back and talk to someone different. At my old dealership the turnover of employee's in parts and service is outstanding.Yes, they do need to order them, and I'd have no problem with that. I don't expect them to have the units on hand.
They said they can't order them, meanwhile the gentleman above is saying 18,000 airbags are sitting in a warehouse.
