This always confused me does Ford want the tires at 35 after warming up, if you set tires at 35 cold their going to be 37/38 after driving a while sometimes after 10/15 min, if that's the case the Tech that set your tires at 33 was correct. I was having MPG problems was advised by a tech on the channel to raise my tire pressure, I set my tires at 39 WARM, for the first time I was getting 40 and more MPG.
It's not that confusing. It says "cold" right on the door sticker.

For the record, I usually set my tires to 39 psi WARM and it works out fine. I like to go a little beyond 35 cold because the 17" tires are not too punishing on ride quality. I just got back from a 1,500 mile round trip, and they eventually maxed out at 44 on a desert highway, which I was not too concerned about. After setting at 39 warm, I do not ever see much beyond 41-42 during normal summer commuting.

I know. I simply replied to @piwtrnr that he was correct.
Ok, but if I showed up and said "I don't know where you people are getting your information, but proper chili has beans," I would also be correct, and it would also be confusing and completely irrelevant to the thread. :D

I worked with a mechanical engineer on an ongoing issue with a new designed machine. He insisted the issue in the field was the machine not being perfectly level ( which is impossible based on the tolerances allowed in fabrication) and that the field engineers needed to do it correctly. He and his supervisor came to the customer's plant, brought the laser leveling kit and the procedure HE wrote to level it with them. To set up the laser equipment you have to use the spirit level built into it to make sure the 2 heads are level to each other. This engineer actually asked his supervisor why the little bubble kept moving and thought it was defective. Once he learned how to use a level and laser alignment tool we spent 3 days leveling this machine to his procedure and specification. The machine ran 30 minutes and seized up again.
It's hard not to laugh (and sometimes I actually do) when these folks have the "come to Jesus moment" when they KNOW they are wrong. I consider it a learning experience when I screw things up and make a note in my small brain not to do THAT again! Ha! Good thing about being old is you can use that for an excuse and many times it works!

I don't know where you folks are getting your info but my manual shows that for my ecoboost 2.0 shows that 5w-30 Synthetic blend is what is specified. Page 348.. If you click on either set of numbers for US and plug them in it brings up Ford Premium synthetic blend.
My 2025!maverick in the lower u.s. calls for 5-20w full synthetic oil. I have the 2.0 ecoboost as well.

Hi everyone.

I brought my 2.5L AWD Hybrid (2025) in for an oil change at my local ford dealer at 8000km (5000miles) and they argued with me that semi-synth was the oil to use when I knew it was full synth. I insisted that they use the correct oil and they did so begrudgingly.

Now, I bring it in for its 16,000km service (10,000 miles). This time I bring my own oil and filter because, frankly, I don't trust them to use the right stuff. However, I pay for "the works" service with customer provided oil/filter.

When I pick the truck up and get home, I see that they didn't rotate the tires, noting it was "not needed." At 16,000km without a rotation? That would mean when I bring it in for 24,000km it would get its first tire rotation? Doesn't that seem extremely long?

Further, It seems they didn't inspect the brakes, e-brake etc.

The service schedule for this truck says:
"Here's what happens at your 16,000km checkup:

-inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses and parking brake.
-inspect engine cooling system

etc etc etc"

They didn't even do the first line item. Their reasoning? Well, a tire rotation wasn't needed so they didn't take the tires off so couldn't inspect the brakes...

Also, the truck went in with tire pressure of 35psi (which is what's on the door jam) but left with 33psi so it seems they let air out of my tires for some reason.

There is an active safety recall on this truck and they didn't let me know about it.

What are everyone's thoughts on this? I'm inclined not to trust this dealer for service but everyone tells me that every other dealer in the Edmonton area is even less trust worthy and that this is the best one.

Should I be avoiding Ford for all service? Is this totally normal and I'm just over-reacting?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Sounds like it’s time to try a different dealership for Mav work.

Hey Trogdor!!!,
Try calling FordPass Customer Relations at
800.883.2966 and tell them about your experience with your dealer in Spruce Grove Alberta; they are concerned about Ford's reputation as portrayed by their dealer network. Get them involved and I think you'll get resolution to your concerns

OK. and a 2019 Corolla calls for 0w-20 synthetic. What does that have to do with anything?
