I just bought a 2024 Maverick hybrid with just 2,500 miles. For the second time I came out and batteries were dead, jumped it and took it to the dealer. They say the batteries are fine but something is drawing the power while it is shut off but they can't find the problem. What do I do?

Leave it with them. Request a loaner. It took my dealer 28 days to “find” the parasitic draw. They ended up finally, with the help of Ford engineers, changing the battery, TCM and BCM replacement. That was abt 4 months ago. No problems since. Don’t take no for an answer. Leave it with them, check every week. If you can not get a straight answer or they keep saying “we can’t find anything”, call Ford Customer Support. They will open a case on it. After we called it took a week and the truck was ready, it had been there for 3 weeks when we called Ford.

It is a hassle. If possible consider not jump starting just call your dealer to send out the remote tech to jump start. After about five times and two batteries they will get serious in fixing. If you are too far from your dealer you could call Ford service but you may just jump it that time. Squeaky wheel!

So you have a 'new' car under warranty that has an issue and the 'stealer' can't fix it

You hire a lawyer and LemonLaw it

Dealer called me and said they are going to put a new front battery in today and then see how it does. We shall see, they seem to be trying.

Incase you maybe don’t know… the “front battery” is under the back seat. You do have jump pins under the hood, but no physical 12v battery unlike the EcoBoost!

my MAVERICK TRUCKEL HYBRID. TRY THIS. EVERY TIME I STOP AND LEAVE IT…EVERYTIME… I get out and press lock till it beeps 2 or 3 times and walk away. This eliminates all the clicking and clacking and using battery juice till I’m ready to roll again——-works for me. Never a problem.

The High Voltage battery is under the truck.

Having the truck go into battery saver mode is something many of us are enduring. I keep a jump pack under the seat just in case.

Some choose to let Ford lead them through a dance of re-charge and return until the battery degrades enough for them to replace it under warranty, only to start the dance again. I am living with it but will replace the 12v battery with an AGM as soon as it is needed.

I have given up on the Ford app for now as it is never connected (accept when the truck is "On").

When I bought this truck I didn't sign on for this kind of nonsense. I want my money back and will buy another Honda.

Well you could search the group for threads on this subject and see that for many investing in an AGM battery has solved the issue. Also note battery issues are plaguing many of the manufactures these days due to the all the tech involved. I said I keep a jump pack in the truck but I have not used it in the 5+ months I have owned it. By dropping into battery saver mode the truck hangs on with enough power to start. I love my truck enough to not let a $300 part take away from the enjoyment!

If you would prefer Ford not spying on your truck and your driving 24 hours per day, and draining your 12V battery while doing so, then pull fuse #11 from the under the glovebox fuse holdings. It was suggested to me months ago and we have never had a problem. All the lights come on inside and out when we open the truck door, something that wasn't happening before, and it always starts up. It is the 5a Micro Fuse in position 11; you'll thank me for it.
