I just bought my Maverick last week. 2023 AWD Lariat with the 4k tow package.

I've only had it a week and I'm a bit annoyed with this mystery rattle/noise that's coming from the dashboard.

1. I can't exactly pinpoint the specific area where it's coming from, but my guess is driver's side where the gauge cluster meets the dashboard if that makes sense.

2. Seems to only happen when the left tire hits a bump or imperfection in the road.

3. Only does it occasionally over certain bumps. I will hit many bumps and there will be no noise. Then I will hit a very, very tiny bump and hear it. It will BARELY be a bump and it may cause the rattle. It's almost as if the big bumps won't cause it which is bizarre.

4. The rattle is not loud. I have to have the radio off to hear it.

Doing a few searches, I know that other people are experiencing this issue, but I can't find a forum or thread where someone pinpoints it. I'd bring it to the dealership, and I will if i have to, but I'd rather avoid a dealership since I know what 99% will most likely happen. They won't hear it or say they can't find it. I'm mechanically inclined and if it's a simple fix, I'd rather deal with it on my own.

I believe it's where the defrost vents are mounted to the underside of the dash. I did read someone was successful in getting the dealer to re-rack them but they had to tear the dash apart.

You can reach in and push the plastic with your fingers (defrost vent) and it moves.

Mine was a loose drivers side sun visor, sounded like it was in the dash but snapping in tight fixed it. Doh..

Love em rattles, huh? When I got mine, no rattle. Then added stuff. Added 2 layer cool trays inside the deep center console, put stuff in. Rattling. Hate.

After rearranging junk inside, adding padding, rattle kinda stop. Few days after, hearing rattle. Seen, Removed a pen in top tray, its point touching the front wall of tray. Rattle stop. A freaking pen that barely touches tray wall, hitting tar lines bumps in road, at 20-25 mph, makes pen move forward, and rattles.

My 22 EB had a rumble, not rattle, in the dash ahead of the driver. I determined it was the HVAC defrost duct to the vent outlet at the windshield.

My '24 hybrid order arrived before I had time to deal with it but it looked like there was little space under the dash to reach it. It required dash dissassembly.

Check the plastic piece directly above the steering column and the bottom part of the display console. Mine is loose and will rattle when hitting certain bumps. I confirmed it on mine by grabbing and holding it when going over said bumps. I haven't checked yet to see if can be tightened, though.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

So for you '24 owners, is your dash a cacophony of rattles and buzzes? Was hoping for a TB to address them for '22 and '23, if the '24 dash's were rattle free. If yes, then a peek into what the build differences are.

Same thoughts about the '25's when forum members actually take possession; did they solve the dash rattles?

My 12 month adjustment warranty ends in about two weeks. I have a slight buzz in the dash over on the passenger side that occurs every so often over certain roads. I'm not sure it is worth the risk of the dealer creating other issues that appear later from trying to fix this one.

I always believe a vehicle is never as good as it is when it leaves the factory - fixing a minor issue that requires more than minimal disassembly only creates new issues.

You're preaching to the choir here.
Especially when you're talking about plastic parts that can snap, crack and break. Life is a trade off. Sometimes you're better off living with it than trying to fix it, only resulting in more problems.

😁 Avoid driving on those certain roads😁

My 2024 has an annoying rattle from the dashboard on the driver side. And pretty annoying wind noise from the driver’s door weatherstripping.

Mine has a cold weather dash rattle on the driver side. When the weather warms up, that one goes away, only to be replaced with a worse rattle on the passenger side.

Next time I go in for a software update, I will have them add the foam pieces that are supposed to address a dash rattle. There's a TSB/CSP or similar notice about it and I have the number written down out in the truck. Probably won't fix the issues, but hope to maybe get at least one of them gone.

Other than that, I have had zero problems with this truck in over 23k miles. So I just turn up the radio and try to drown out the rattles. 🙄

OK. So, what is the TSB/CSP or similar notice that you have written down in the truck?
