I did have the problem. It was loud enough, frequent enough, and annoying enough to take it to the dealer. Just not acceptable on a new vehicle. I tried all the tricks noted in the forum and nothing worked. The dealer needed it for four days as they have to remove the entire dash. I was concerned they might do more damage than it was worth.

My dealer said they have a Serenity kit to address this. It consists of some buffers they put between the dash and window (the kit is made by Serenity). When I picked it up the inside was still pristine. You would never have known they did anything. And the rattle was just as bad as before. The option was ti give it to them for another four days. I passed. I have since traded it in for a variety of other reasons so it never was resolved.
Getting rid of mine ...Same issues gonna make a 6 k profit....done with ford...they just screwed me on the rear camera recall on my mustang saying the bad camera was not in the vin range ....500 dollar repair and I had no cameras for over a year...Done with themmm...

The issue could very well be the windshield alignment pucks hitting the metal of the body. The dealer realigned my windshield after talking to Ford.
That could be a problem, but should not cause a deep dash rattle sound.
I have had my windshield recently replaced and those alignment clips were removed.

At 17,000 miles, I now have deep rattles only when going over certain roads.
I don't hear it over railroad tracks. You can always hear it if you go over the Bots Dots on the Double Yellow Line. You can also hear it on asphalt that has a bunch of crack repair or other asphalt repair going on.

I bought a rubber strip to slot between the windshield and dashboard, in the months since, I haven't heard the worst rattles at all. I used to have a rattle that was really, really bad. Like my instrument cluster makes a mild rattle going over road imperfections. If that level of rattle was like a 2, what I was experiencing was like a 9.

A deep, impossible to drown out of ignore rattle every single time I hit anything. Far louder than any of the rattle vids I saw from other people. It's completely gone down, at least the worst of it.

Maybe since the new windshield was put in, there is less space! I never heard the rattles until my windshield was replaced. It could be between the dash and the window. Very hard to tell, much troubleshooting is needed to find the source and the dealer won't find it for you, unfortunately.
Especially if the window has been replaced because it got F'ed up, major crack from a stone that was flying and unfortunately hit your windshield. It's now an Atfer Market windshield and may not be covered under warranty.

You're right. The issue you have is different, and I likely also have the same one. Pegs fixed the tapping. Now I have deeper knocking. It's related to the black windshield defroster vent on the driver side.

My guess is it's one of the bolts that hold the vent to the blue plastic on top.

My 22 EB has had the dash rattle since new, over the years the noise has become less noticeable, it's to the point of almost not hearing it at all.

So to the maverick owners out there who've had the dashboard rattle come up, you'll know it's one of those things that's not a major issue, but it's still annoying. It's recently become more pronounced on our maverick, I know there's a TSB for this, is it worth doing for people who've done it?

I've heard some say it got rid of it, some say there wasn't a huge difference, and some say it made it worse, but I'm just looking for a general consensus.
I believe in the old saying "Leave well enough alone" Once you remove the dashboard to fix a problem, you may wind up with more problems then a rattle. Many members on this forum, have put the rubber seal between the dash, and the windshield, and it seems to help with the rattle.

That's what I decided to do, and the more noticable rattles seem to have gone away. Don't want to jinx myself but it's been about a month and nothing so far.
