Hey folks. I've got a '22 XLT Hybrid currently at around 68K for mileage.
The vibrations during acceleration finally got bad enough to bring it in. Always the worst at 50-60mph, but noticeable at all times during acceleration. A local dealer I didn't purchase from couldn't figure it out $900 later.

I jumped on the forum here to find a bunch of the same issue. I told the dealer and they seem to agree that replacing the CV joints might fix it. Of course Ford has the parts on indefinite backorder. Has anyone had any luck getting this or similar issues rectified? Is there a new version of this joint? I've read of multiple failures and replacements. I'm to the point I don't want to put my kids in this thing. All the Ford customer service #s did nothing for me.

Best thing to do IMO is buy some Tremor cv joints and install those

I really just need an option for the parts.
I'm not happy to be putting more money into it. But, whatever. When an item doesn't have a lead time, it doesn't look good right now.

Part of the reason I dumped my Mav, two sets of failed front half shafts in 20k miles. It's amazing that Ford would rather keep replacing them at a huge cost rather than supercede the part with a more robust design. It's not surprising though given my most recent experience with Ford.

Two things on my mind…
- Wondering who is mfr of these joints, and where?
- There are CV shaft rebuild shops. Any thoughts of employing them?

I’ve got a 22 Maverick with 26,000 miles on it. I had heavy vibration on acceleration. I researched the problem on this website….

I took it in to the Ford dealer the week before Thanksgiving, and explained the problem. They drove it and put it up on the rack. 30 minutes later they confirmed the CV problem on the passenger side. They told me the parts were on back order…. I took my truck and left. Last week, they called to let me know the part was delivered. In less than 2 hours yesterday, I got my Maverick back fixed, without the shake.

THE TRICK IS TO GET YOUR CV PART ON ORDER/BACKORDER….

Take your Maverick for this WARRANTY work.

My dealer is insisting the tires weren't balanced and I needed an alignment and that was causing the shimmy. But I hadn't hit anything or done anything that would have thrown off the alignment. I had specifically asked about the CV joints, knowing about the issues from this forum, but they said they are fine. It is only on acceleration and only at certain speeds. They balanced them and did an alignment (at my cost) and 6 months later the issue is still there (I assumed it would gradually get better if the issue was tire wear from the above issues). I will likely keep the truck for several more years, so I plan on replacing the tires before my warranty ends and bringing it back in. I'm 99% sure the shimmy will still be there on brand new tires, but I'm not replacing them before I have to.

2022 Hybrid. About 29k miles.

The dealer I was at got me for an alignment too. Then I pushed them on the CV joints.

I now have 32,000 miles on my 2022 XLT, I took it in for an oil change in September after a road trip towing the camper in mountainous West Georgia, Kentucky West Virginia mountains and home through Charlotte in the rainstorm from the no name tropical depression, I been noticing the vibration upon acceleration exacerbated by the added weight of the camper, their mechanic confirmed that I won the lottery and had a bad set too. I keep checking back to see if they've come in, Thursday they say the end of JANUARY I may see them. We cancelled our December camping trip because we are leery of driving and not being able to get home.

My service advisor told me to make a list of all of the aggravating and abnormal (me thinks 'Paranormal') crap happening and give it to her before I run out of warranty, like the radio sometimes just changed function or quits all together then the next day it's working fine.

My Pastors wife really wanted a Maverick to replace their Jeep Wagoneer that sat in East Coast FL salty flood waters for three days, even though it never entered the cabin or into the engine was totaled so I convinced them to get something perhaps more reliable so they've purchased a Ranger, sigh, I was thinking more about a Tacoma.

My love affair is way over, even winning Mabett's contest for the Flaps and Flares I'm wishing we'd bought a better hybrid vehicle.

The Ford dealer took my Maverick with 26000 miles for a drive, when when I brought it in for the severe vibration when accelerating…. They checked the alignment and rotated my tires… then went for another ride with the same vibrations. They then put the Maverick up on a rack and could see the problem at the CV axel on the passenger side. The replacement CV axel was on backorder…. That was was week before Thanksgiving. I got a call last week that my parts were ready. The repair took less than 2 hours, and the little truck now drives great, again. GET YOUR TRUCK INSPECTED AND THE PARTS ORDERED/BACKORDERED. Stop worrying…

They aren't on some crazy backorder, I don't know why dealers are pushing this so hard. While they might not be able to get them overnight, they are getting them pretty quick. Ford also redesigned the axles and the ones in the channels are the redesigned ones, so that is a plus!
