About 2 weeks ago, I started to feel a vibration when accelerating. Worse when trying to pass a car or get up to speed entering the highway. Smooth ride otherwise. I searched this forum and found all the threads concerning the CV axle(s). My truck was at 22,880 for mileage.
I made an appointment dreading a run around (alignment/tire issues) as we all know dealerships love warranty work. When I dropped it off, the Advisor listened to everything I had to say about it. They called me about 3 hours later and said the tech was able to verify my concerns. He checked from underneath and determined it was the front axles. One of them was spitting grease from the boot. They had the parts in stock-unbelievable-and they would have to done by the end of the day.
They replaced both axles and all related hardware. Everything, including the diagnostic charge, was covered by the Powertrain components 5 year/60K mile warranty. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience which was a 100% improvement from the last time I had a warranty issue.
