So after almost 10 months I figured I'd have a truck that was 100%. I had to imagine that Ford did whatever it takes to get trucks out for 2022 and by "whatever it takes" I was hoping it wasn't literally. I wanted to change my wheels out. And low and behold, corners were cut, well not corners but my spindles. Tops trimmed to mount the shocks and as you can see the really hacked the area to mount the tie-rod. Not real happy with my first ever Ford. Has anyone else had this issue? XL Hybrid 230 miles. Who can I contact at Ford? Dealer is aware of my issue.

If you are still worried about the rust, you can use steel wool to remove it as much as you can, then use the black rattle can paint it.

Look at railroad tanks, boxcars, etc. The wheels, springs, suspensions, etc are all rusted, yet they still use them for thousands of miles each day across America.

It's not an issue for me but not passing judgement on those who have concerns. It's cosmetic and unlike the comment about no paint behind the tail light, this will not likely progress beyond cosmetic.

Lots of little issues. I agree with the poster they just lazy and grinded the part down and sent it out the door.

On the 2.0L the rear muffler is were dirt gets up on the electrical parts on that side of the bed inverter other side has plastic to keep stuff out should've put a muffler shroud to prevent it lots of dust and clumps of dirt in there remove the tail like on passenger side looms new driver side lots of mud clumped up.

Had electrical issues from day one drive train warning as well. Ptu warning the rear differential bound up then worked after throwing a code dealer simply says can't replicate .

The stero makes popping noise when turning off or on and randomly crashes. The dash lights stero all flicker after it rains. The engine is hot enough to cook an egg on says temp is fine but you can feel the heat coming off it. (Never had a car get that hot)

The auto dimming is super annoying and you can't really change it. Other light modes don't really seem to do anything diffrent.

The window and dash creeks had to fix it my self. Window was add heat to defrost and the rattles were roof and by the drivers feet I just pushed and pulled on every panel and tapped on them with a fist till it worked out

So far been into service for warranty alot. Always can't replicate see you later. Auto start stop not working just a low battery drive it more was the answer. Battery drains over a few days went and drove it through a whole tank of gas it wasn't able to bring the battery above 12.6 volts the auto start stop won't work when it's that low. Used a battery charger on it 4 times already it drops down to 12.6 then sits there just enough so auto start doesn't work but it doesn't go dead while driving. Really fishy electrical problem.

Going to have to call in again tomorrow it takes like 3 weeks or more to get an appointment

So far 27km didn't see that one before it just popped up as a maintenance said other/unknown

955km ptu power reduced code
2597km new tires and electric issue
2999 2 unknown electrical it used to say(auto start stop)

3175 electrical clutch axle radio
87121 service and check battery agian

Warranty has been very frustrating get it then back out can't replicate. The dealers don't seem to want to deal with anything electrical. Had wires under the hood that have tape on them just electrical tape and it was loose. Noticed the service guy taped it up tight because I left it like that and noticed they're doing something every now and agian.
That's a hot mess of issues - Yowsa

Just ran outside and randomly shoved my phone behind the front wheel, here's what it looks like after a weekend of gravel roads and 12000kms. I have no issue with this

As a retired manufacturing quality engineer, I think you are missing a couple of points. 1.) The surface finish of the machined casting is just fine for a compression/friction joint. A rough surface finish will hold in place more durably. eg. a polished surface would be dangerous. 2.) You do NOT want that surface painted post machining. Paint on that joint can result in the paint failing on the mating surfaces resulting in the fastener preload relaxing. You get a loose connection and a safety issue. 3.) The resultant surface rust is totally cosmetic and soon to covered in dirt etc.
These are truck suspension parts, not pretty accessories.

It's a mass produced part on a $23k truck. They cast it, coat it, and final machine it for assembly.
That makes as much sense as someone complaining that one of their headlights isn’t working and telling them that for $23k, you want both to work?

I just looked at one side and mine is very similar. As previously posted, I believe this is standard practice for proper seating. Would I have liked a dab of paint on the ground exposed parts? Sure, but it appears normal.

"For the XL AWD Hybrid please go to Isles 14, 15, 16, 23, 24, and 25 and get one item from each shelf in color desired. For FWD only do not go to Isle 25. For the Ecoboost option go to Isle 27 instead of 24. For XLT substitute Isle 13 for Isle 14 and for Lariat substitute Isle 12 for 14. For all options, please check with customer service for availablity (good luck!). Assembly required. Please carefully follow the stick figure people with lots of arrows and symbols in pictures provided in the 350 page book. Words to say when frustrated provided in several languages. Tools not provided."
I found the assembly instructions video! Some might say that it's a joke, but it's exactly how many people would see it.

Here is a picture of a steering knuckle/spindle I pulled off my 09' Escape. You'll notice the machined mating surfaces and it may be hard to tell, but it was never painted from the factory. I also posted up a pic of a knuckle with the OEM raw cast appearance.
