"Normally" the public does not even know about any of these build plans let alone there is even a new truck coming. The announcement date would take place AFTER the Okay to Sell milestone has been achieved and stock units are rolling to the dealers (Think 2020 Escape).

There are no 'mistakes' taking place here. It takes months to launch a new vehicle and make sure everything is in the proper place. The vehicles will get here but it may not be making good on the expectations of the waiters.

As for the Bronco situation that was hit hard by COV-19 supply and work constraint issues. It was terrible but Ford is trying to relieve the stress which many on here think is some sort of joke.

I am very well aware of what it takes in the complete process cycle. I use to work for GM in the Fisher Body division. If people could see the manufacturing process and then look in the background of the Just-In-Time inventory process they would truly be amazed and the wise ones would have nothing more to say. Going further back to die design, fit and finish, the vendor selection process, and in the end they get a small pickup truck for only $20,000. ....and they still complain....

75 days is reasonable, 375 is not. I also have a push to "22" Bronco order. I 've spent a carreer in manufacturing, I understand the nightmare of logistics, but our customers would never expect us to say "See you next year" it's just not reasonable. I had a boss who's favorite line during crunch time was" I don't care how, but make it happen ", if it was manpower the O/T checkbook was open, if it was a vendor issue they were served with penalties, etc.
If it's chips, go the F-150 route & build & let dealers install , just keep what little confidence we have left by pushing units out of the assembly line.
Now that I vented I'll just get comfortable and wait way to long for our new Fords, ....you know who going to suffer the most, dealers C.S.I scores (Customer Satisfaction Index) even though they are just as out of control as we are.
75 days is reasonable, anything else is shame on Ford, & they are the ones pushing the made to order model.
Nothing grinds my gears more than G.M. getting a good laugh at Fords missteps.

In the case of the Bronco, 375 days is what it is, based on availability. The configuration my wife wants will not be available until the 2023 model year. she has offered several 2021 Bronco's that were not accepted at delivery, but she knows what she wants, and is willing to wait.

Not even going to try to rationalize the comment "I don't care how, but make it happen", other than to say that's how cost overruns and mismanagement occur.

If sprayed in bedliners are a constraint why not have dealers install like DIOs?

Most dealers will send it out to have the spray-in liner completed prior to delivery.

when I bought the Ranger, they had a lower level Ranger on the lot they wanted to sell me and told me they could have it done and include it in the deal same as factory option

I have a VIN but no build date. Normally once you get a VIN the build date is two weeks away. XLT/2.0T/AWD/LUX/TOW/FX4 with sliding rear window. As I have the VIN I can't change a thing.

This is really frustrating.

I talked to my dealer this morning about this and asked if he believed this would delay my order for a XLT with Luxury package, he had no idea what I was talking about... I really think I may need to switch dealers.

n the meantime I am just going to keep my fingers crossed and hope my POS Buick Encore holds together until the order shows up. Then again, Its been about 6 months since it last broke down, so its probably due.

Almost every dealer I deal with is as dumb as a rock.

All our allocation this month is scheduled out, so we don't have any preview information to add.

I just removed the spray bed liner and splash guards from my Lariat. That changed my build code from 19 down to 10.

What is protective fender film 87B?

It's a thin plastic sheet that adheres to the fender. It's suppose to prevent scratches to the paint. If it's anything like what I have, it's crappy. It will scratch and you cant get it out. The paint isn't scratched but the plastic is and it looks bad. You can't get rid of the mark. At least I haven't.

Welp, I removed everything but the Co-Pilot and the hitch (Which I'm only getting because my Impala has a hitch and it seems wrong to go from a sedan to a truck and lose a hitch). If that those stall orders, I'm just going with plan Toyota and soaking the extra costs.

I haven't read through the rest of this thread yet but there is a difference in the factory spray in bed liner and one done at the dealer. The one done at the factory has the ford logo in it while the ones done elsewhere don't. This was talked about on a Youtube video I saw. I can't recall which one now. May have been @fordvideoguy who mentioned it. Most people probably don't care though.
