If anyone has an answer, I’m ordering this morning. I like the wheels, interior and price better on the xl, but enjoy cruise. Can’t decide to step up to xlt or not. No plusses for me with xlt except cruise.
Can you tell me which feature you are referring to here? I've scoured my copy of the owners manual and cannot find reference to this.

Our cruise control system disengages in a number of different ways.

First, and most obvious, is using the included control switch to turn the system on and off.
Second, it disengages when you press the brake pedal.
Third, it disengages if you stomp the gas pedal, for example, when passing another vehicle on the highway.
Fourth, directly related to the third option above, is when the system's built-in over-rev protection detects a jump in the engine RPM. This occurs normally with wheel slippage such as when driving in wet (hydroplaning) or icy conditions.
Fifth is if there's any break in communication with the vehicle's CAN Bus such as if you remove the OBD-II plug while driving.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

There is automatic braking if the system detects you are about to impact the vehicle in front of you on all trim levels. Supposedly it will slow your speed if unable to prevent the collision. It doesn’t require the 360 safety package and would be initiated by sensors, not brake pedal application. I went ahead and ordered the xlt for cruise but still prefer the xl for multiple reasons.

Bill answered your question, in the post after the one you quoted. You can probably still change your order with the Ford dealer, if you wish, if you contact him soon.

Hi everyone!

As mentioned here, through our Rostra Accessories division, we we will be offering an add-on cruise control system for the '22 Maverick shortly after it is available. I've ordered the XL model in Cactus Gray for myself, so have no fear - if you decide to order the XL/100A equipment package, you'll be able to add cruise control, seat heaters, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot detection, interior and exterior LED lighting and more. If you're interested, check out the video below. It's from a Subaru but will give you some idea of what an installation typically entails. Likewise, please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, or LinkedIn to get notices of these new products right away:

Thanks for the video. The installation looks easy enough and not as difficult as replacing a 2 din radio in the 2003 Sonoma ZRX with a Kenwood video system and adding SiriusXM..

I have a 2004 F150 XL that came from the factory without cruise control.

3 years ago (2018) I bought the cruise buttons from Ford and installed them in the steering wheel myself (30 minute job). I then took it to my local dealer and they "turned on" the cruise feature in the computer, (another 30 minutes).

I know this is comparing apples and oranges, but if they had this capability in 2004, it may be possible to do the same on the Maverick. You might just need to find a good local dealer willing to work with you.
Fords have only gotten increasingly more modular since then. For example with my 16 F150, I have added several factory options not originally equipped (or even available at the trim level) as well as changed the factory behavior of other stuff. At least with those 13th gen F150’s, the main wiring harness is usually the limiting factor as there is one for the XL and XLT, and another for lariat on up. Even with the lower wiring, all hope wasn’t lost as people came up with adapter harnesses for the popular mods. I have a lariat thus the full wiring so I never had to mess with that. Everything literally is pretty much plug and play. Add in the modules, control, whatever the case may be, configure the vehicle in forscan, IDS, whatever is capable of making asbuilt changes (and sometimes there is a calibration routine you need to do with some stuff), and your good to go.

I expect the maverick is going to be more of the same. I suspect factory cruise should be an easy add unless besides not being an option for any XL, they don’t plan on ever offering it this gen, and the XL uses a lower main harness with no wiring for it vs a common shared (with other trims) harness.

Has anyone with Maverick XL found or tried to install Cruise control yet. I don't need adaptive cruise, though that would be great, I just want standard cruise to hold speed above 30 MPH. I see that Rostra said they will be coming out with cruise but still see online says coming soon. I see there are several XL Mavericks being delivered still don't see the cruise from Rostra, honestly kind of making me think I might need to change to XLT. This is not what I want but timing is everything.

I haven't checked lately, and still have no build. I'm sure rostra will have their cruise add on long before I get my hybrid at this rate. U recently switched from an XLT to an XL. I can add the after market cruise and heated seats and I'll be good to go.

I like the XL interior more than XLT and also don't want to pay $2300 for cruise. Just want some assurance cruise will be a option before my 2022 Ford Maverick XL Hybrid gets picked up for build, yes probably have 2-3 months at least.

Morning, all. We're still working to find a Maverick in our area for testing. None of our local dealerships, including the one I ordered my personal hybrid XL from, have taken delivery for customers yet. As soon as we get our hands on one it will be about 14 days before the kit is released.

Likewise, if anyone reading this is in the Raleigh/Durham/Fayetteville area of North Carolina and would like to have a cruise control system, parking sensors - pretty much anything from rostra.com added to their XL Maverick so we can get our testing done using their truck - we'll add it for free.

Bill, I posted this in the southeast regional section of the forum. If I already had my Maverick I sure would jump on this deal.

I never realized so many use cruise control so much.

I've got the XL Hybrid ordered with Copilot360. I was elated to hear that means I will get power side mirrors as those are more important to me than cruise control. Copilot360 also gives me BLIS and lane keep assist and monitoring which are both nice safety features.

I might have to wait a year or so until someone on these here forums much smarter than me can mess with Forscan and give step by step instructions for enabling cruise. It would be the cherry on top if it was ACC because of Copilot.

Regardless - I was happy to have the other Copilot features as a bargain price more than I was to get an orange accented interior just to add cruise control.

For the roughly $2,300 more the XLT trim would have cost me I plan to tint the windows, ceramic coat the paint, rust proof the underbody, and add Katzkin leather seats. All that will probably push me a little north of $3k but I will have a trucklet ready to stand the test of time and an interior that shames XLT. All at the expense of cruise control (temporarily).
