I was able to squeeze 23,500 miles out of the stock Continentals (with a tire rotation every 5k miles) and replaced them today with the Continental CrossContact ATR 225/65 R17 from DiscountTire. These were $160 each so total out the door was less than $800. I'm liking the look and hoping they last longer than the ProContact tires did. :)

If you weren't happy with the stock continentals, why did you replace them with more continentals.

I just measured my tread depth on the Conti’s with 23K on them. They are between 6 and 7 mm. I wish I measured them when new! They look and ride just fine! I rotate at each oil change. Very little towing or heavy use. Lots of highway miles…

This tire makes a lot of sense for your build and the Maverick in general, but Dallas, TX? I figured not too much gravel there but I could be wrong. It a nice lightweight on-road AT tire.

I'm way outside of Dallas and still plenty of gravel near me. Besides, we make summer and winter trips to places with rougher roads.

I have 2 years and 28k miles on my 22 xl ecoboost with my Continentals and expect to get another year and 12-14k miles. I'm very happy also.

If you weren't happy with the stock continentals, why did you replace them with more continentals.
OEM tires are custom made to OEM SPECS usually having 2-4/32" tread depth and different tread compound to run quieter, etc. My hybrid lariat came with Ford OEM primacy Michelin with 8.5/32" tread and are 45k tires. The primacy Michelin is a line custom made for maybe 20 different vehicles. The after market primacy tires come with greater tread depth, maybe slightly different tread compound and other differences and are 60-65k tires. Same applies to other brands. If you purchase a vehicle with a low volume of production then you possibly get a retail version tire with vehicle. I just replaced my primacy tires with continental True Contact Tour54 70-80k (I don't remember which) tires with low rolling resistance. Plus other stuff. 90+% of my driving is on pavement and these tires have a center groove to help with water, etc. Tour54 are a new line and don't have many if any reviews yet.

....and, it's a different model than the OE tires. As stated, most all OE tires suck -- with a few exceptions. Most mainstream tire brands make some good tires, and mediocre (bad) ones. Those CrossContact ATRs look like a good choice.
