- 26 this morning here in the U.P. and I was curious if my 23 Hybrid XLT would start. Ford said Vehicle in battery saver mode, start and please drive vehicle to refresh status and remote features. So I went outside to start it and lo and behold I barely turned the key and there was a thump (probably drive motor starting)and on it went no problem. Satisfied ..............

Battery saver mode - or deep sleep mode?

Big difference.

Deep sleep mode truck turns off the modem - so you can't remote start from app.
Frankly, at those temps, and well above - exactly when I'd want remote start available!

Battery saver stops turning on lights and such until you start it, no big whoop in comparison.

Oh, the motors don't start turning when you Key to Start.
Pretty quickly the generator motor will start the engine in those temps, but always a pause.
Listen for it again, and if engine immediately starts with it.

Did you let it run for a bit - first 5 min probably going to get the best charging of the 12V battery it was in essence complaining about.

Battery saver mode, I figured that the charger motor started it and let it run for about 15 min. Ford Pass wouldn't start it when it got down to zero or more last couple of days.

I just got back from a snowmobile trip to Munising in the UP. Maverick fired right up yesterday morning for me, too, after sitting outside in the cold overnight. (y) And, it did great pulling the trailer thru the snowy hotel lot. They weren't doing a great job plowing. My buddy had to put his full size Chevy in 4 wheel drive to pull his trailer thru the lot. I just left mine in normal, and it did fine, although there was some wheel slip.

In Gaylord this morning we had 6° & went up to 8° at noon. The dropped all day to -1° at 7:30pm. Wife went out & drove off after starting Maverick via FordPass in the warmth. -6° plus by morning I have heard. We will find out what happens in am.

Despite truck system reporting 12V battery SOC of 43% and 11.4 V, remote start was available this morning at -2.

And barely any time charging at higher charge rate, already at 2A after 5 min warmup, got to work at 11.7 V (which will drop quickly), and reported 44% SOC.

I'm very shocked remote start is allowed to work. But glad.

My Ecoboost will not remote start from the app when in battery saver mode. Gotta bundle up and go outside and put the key In the ignition.

Gotta love the modern fuel injected engines. When in High School I pumped gas and washed windshields at a local gas station (a relic of the past). Every time the temps hit the teens or colder below zero all we did all day was make house calls car starting and installing new batteries.

The boss made tons of money and I got frost bit fingers.

A lot warmer here on the Wisconsin/Illinois border, 12 degrees this morning. I was ready for trouble but it popped off instantly, no troubles. Might have sounded a little noisier but that might have been me.

It was -16 this morning where I live, which is the UP of Michigan, but my Maverick was started via the app and it started fine. And it sure was nice getting in and having the seat kind of being warm, the steering wheel being warm, and it blowing the heat.

Bracing for low 20 temps in Florida this weekend I may set my alarm to remotely start the Maverick every few hours until the cold moves through

I wouldn't bother. Below zero (F) here on the Wisconsin/ Illinois line here last night (every night in fact) and my hybrid has been starting and running fine. Give it 5- 10 minutes to warm up and take it easy at first and that's all you need.
