I can confirm that the 91 tune is impressive! However, I am having trouble determining if I have actually installed the TCM tune. @COBB Tuning After I installed the 91 tune w/ Sport TCM on my '23 Maverick the AP still tells me to install the TCM tune... I have read that it won't say that if it was actually installed. I tried selecting TCM install but it doesn't appear to work (please see the attached video). Upon test driving it feels as if it is installed though, unless what I am noticing is just the 91 tune... Thank you!
@COBB Tuning It would appear my AP is configured the same as this member's. When I flash the ECU + TCM the AP displays 'Installing Module 1 of 2,' when complete it shows a message saying to 'turn OFF and wait 15 seconds, then turn ON and the TCM will install.' When I do that nothing happens and the Install TCM function is inoperable like the video above. When I check installed Tune, the correct ECU + TCM file name is shown. Thanks.

this seems like a good place as any to ask the question, is anyone running an E30 tune on their Maverick?

I see Panda Motorworks is offering one, but I don't see it on their dyno results (they have 91/93/E50) and have not heard anyone talking about it.

We are only offering e50 currently

Based on our research, an e50 mixture is the best on this application. Easier to mix and makes great power. Plus no fuel system modifications are needed

Thanks. So to be clear, with your custom tune service, that has to start from an off-the-shelf map and then tweak it? You can tune 87, 91, 93 and E50, correct?

E30 comes out of a pump in my local area. I'm not interested in mixing fuel even though I'm aware that 50/50 E85 and 91 is pretty close to E50. It would be hard to accurately assess the gallons needed to fill and get that 50/50 right and I'm definitely not externally mixing.

We start with our own base map not a off the shelf map.

You can only run the fuel we tune for in that map. the maverick is not flex fuel therefore can not adjust for different fuels properly. You will need to run the fuel designated on the map notes. If you would like more than one fuel map we have discounted options for multiple maps.

E30 out of the pump is mixed with 87 vs 93 which makes it around 94 oct and not very useful for extra power. The best way to get your fuel is by mixing the fuel. This way its mixed with premium and will be around 96-98oct when mixed allowing us to extract the extra power out of the vehicle.

And I don't blame you on not wanting to mix. I was the same way. Until I found this little tool :)

Local premium is 91. Anywhere that this is the case, E30 is probably useful. Thanks!

I didn't even make it 200 miles before adding the AP. Still breaking it in on the simulated stock tune, but I really wanted auto start/stop removed. Once I've got it broken in, I'll get it on the dyno.

@COBB Tuning @Caleb@PandaMotorworks - OK - question for both of you on if the AP makes sense for me with a Maverick Tremor and how I plan to use my Tremor.

First caveat - let's agree, heat soak IS an issue on the 2.0 EB.

Intercoolers are starting to hit the market in multiples but I have yet to see the question addressed - with any aftermarket intercoolers fit the Tremor?

OK - to me - I own a Tremor, and I don't plan on doing any hooning or racing of said Tremor, but I do feel that being a Tremor it deserves a little extra kick in the pants. I previously owned a Model 3 so I like spirited driving but again, I don't plan on going racecar with the Tremor.

It will see some longer freeway trips where I can get aggressive with passing and driving in the 80s.

Otherwise, the most work it will see is a spirited on ramp run or some work in the blue ridge mountains.

1. Is heat soak going to be an issue for me running the stock intercooler?

2. Does adding the AP (not arguing Cobb v. Cobb + Panda) make sense for me and will I realize any real world daily driving power difference (ie butt dyno) with it? Knowing I don't plan on going Stig with it. Nor do I plan any additional mods above drop in air filter....unless a Tremor specific aftermarket intercooler comes out.

You'll definitely be able to gain usable street power (and transmission behavior) with an AP. The bigger increase of power is in that usable street range based on the size alone.

As for heat soak... I am still breaking mine in, so I haven't done WOT for as long as a 1/4 mile (I have done WOT), but the temps have been hovering around +20F delta of ambient. When I do WOT, the tmps come down a bit. Though the intercooler is smallish, it isn't as small as I thought it would be. I plan to run OEM until I see a need to upgrade.

That said, one of the first things I did on my Ranger was an upgraded intercooler. I do tow with it and wanted to keep the vehicle from pulling power in this hot summer days, in the mountains, going up a steep grade.

Heat soak is a relevant concern on any engine platform. The Maverick benefits from cooling modifications, but isn't useless without them. For reference, during OTS development in the middle of the Texas summer, we were able to drop half a second and pick up 3-4MPH in the 1/4 mile, with 100+*F ambient temperature compared to stock. 100% mechanically stock, tune only, stock intercooler.

There is an air temperature sensor after the intercooler (Charge Air Temperature) that is used by a few load (airflow) limiter tables and ignition timing compensations. In the stock calibration and COBB OTS maps, these tables are used to decrease load and timing advance as Charge Air Temperature increases to keep the engine operating safely. As you get towards the more extreme range of air temperatures (150+*F), the performance gains available with a tune do decrease compared to what can be done in cooler air temperatures. But even in the extreme heat we have here in the Texas summers, we're seeing repeatable, reliable, and noticeable power increases over stock. For your use case, I wouldn't worry at all about the stock intercooler being a concern.

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you mean above. My AP is getting delivered today. The email instructions I got state to flash in an OTS map prior to sending any info over. I took that to mean you write your base map off of what results I am getting after I flash in the Cobb OTS map (for me likely to be the 91 octane OEM+ TCM map)?

You flash the OTS map just to get your ECU code, then you send that code over to us. After we get that code, we will send you a base map, and you will start getting logs with our base map flashed

Keeping an eye on this. Currently with COBB AP for my Subi wrx, loving it. Just ordered Mav and I really can't wait now.
