‘23 Maverick hybrid with 3000miles. Check engine light just came on. Code reads
P2282. Anyone else have this same code? What was the outcome? Also have experienced an electrical smell a couple times in the past, going up hill at low speeds. Any feedback appreciated, thanks

Air leak between the throttle body and intake valves. Have you opened up the hood and noticed anything out of the ordinary? Burning smells? Air leak noises etc etc... maybe a vacuum hose rubbing somewhere it shouldn't be?

All else fails, hit up the dealership with the warranty. Could be something simple like a sensor or just a bad throttle body.

Can't find anything on here for P2282. Brief bit of research suggests amongst other things a connection to Universal Heated Oxygen Sensors (UHO2S). There is a new recall regarding those - 23E07. Basically just some software updates if that's the issue.

Was your 2023 built on/before Jan 11, 2023? Check to see if your vehicle is listed under that recall:

Take to dealer ASAP. Check gear box for proper fluid levels. Also check battery coolant level. Ask dealer to look for problem.

During a fairly long trip yesterday after going down a long long gradual hill, when the truck was charging, there was what smelled like electrics burning.
Took it to the dealer today..they could not find anything out of order or burnt.

When you smell it, pull over and go sniffing. Everywhere. Might be the extra load is making something hot and burning paint. Can't hurt to check

I am thinking most likely just "break-in" or "first time something got hot enough to heat up enough" smell.

Check engine lite went off on its own. The light came on after I went for miles downhill, steep hill, in drive rather than low. Light went off after a couple days, after I made appointment to take to dealer.
The electrical smell still occurs, very faintly, when going up a steep hill slowly in low. I have friends that live at about 2500’ elevation. I’m about 700’ elevation. The road is only a few miles, so steep. This is the only time the smell occurs.

It sounds like you are using Low way too often. No reason to stress your driveline over your brakes unless you are in need of the extra help from lower gears and higher RPM's.

I travel a steep hill every day. It's a Maverick, not a 80k pound 18 wheeler... Use your brakes normally.
