So the connection to the map lights is restored, and a splice from there goes to the mirror, using the wires with connector that came with the mirror.
...
And you can see the red and black wires coming out of that bundle that go to the mirror connector.
So both of the mirror's power wires both connected to acc/ignition power?

The *only* reason to not do this is if you want to open your garage door with your ignition off. I always turn the truck on before I expect the garage opener to work....so I tied them both together.

Just tested this — Wired this way, the garage door openers DO WORK WITHOUT the ignition on, or the key even in the truck.

(I just went to the garage without the Maverick key, got in and pushed the garage door button on the mirror. Opened right up.)

When I approached the truck and looked in, all interior lights were off.

When I opened the door, the map lights go on and the compass on the mirror lights up, and a green light on the mirror goes on..

And then the garage buttons work.

And when I got out of the truck, as usual the map lights go back on and the parking and back cab lights come on. They go off after a time … but the mirror compass light and green light stay on for a while longer.

Huh. I did ascertain that the mirror lights do go out eventually, which all I was concerned about. Don’t know why they stay on longer than the map lights…. but they do.

I do know some people don’t like the idea that the mirror garage door openers always work, even with car off.

But to me, it’s no different than leaving the handheld garage door remote in the car all the time. Which we always have done, on the visor.

All,

I'm still trying to get a hold of the 5 pin connectors. Hopefully I'll have them in 2 - 3 weeks. In the interim, I've ordered 5 mirrors with the harness. Anyone interested I should have 5 complete kits with the plug and play harness with the mirror included next week.

In reviewing all the posts on this subject, I found four different, but similar mirror models and did some serious searching for availability. After waiting 2+ days for response to my inquiry about aforementioned mirrors being in stock, here is what I have found.

Yes, available in stock (although they did not indicate how many):

No response to availability, but may have:

No Stock:

Hope this can be of some help if you are looking to install this option. If I get any additional information on the above, I will update this post.

Following up on my recent post, I ran down to the location pretty close to me in Medina OH (shown in the previous table) and picked up a A7062-ADUP1 model for $13.49. This shipping would have been $13 (by the way, I did setup an incomplete order on the website and got an email indicating 5% would be taken off the by using the code "TAKE5". Since I picked up the item directly, could not use that, but maybe someone could.)

Here is what was in the box:

Heading out of town, but will get to this upgrade when I return. Hope to video the process using some of the techniques shown in this thread.

Bought mine last week and am awaiting install next week when I get back from vacation. Any link to the five pin connectors for a plug and play install? Never a fan of hacking into the stock wiring

Dam ordered one did not see the post about the 5 bucks off. Still for 20 bucks worth it. On Kia they say it's discontinued. So get em while you can.

That 5% off May have just been for the Medina oh location. After looking at this for a while it seems some/many of the dealership parts departments have their own web sites and sell that way.

I'm building custom T-harnesses to solve this, but PM me, and I can send you the pinouts and where the connections are. There are some posts on this, I just can't find them off the top of my head.

Thanks for posting this. My first buy was a bust (tasca), and they canceled my order. I've had good luck with https://kia.parts.
From my research the mirrors are on many vehicles, Hyundai, (Kia [owned by Hyundai], and Subaru). If you find the right site, these mirrors retail for $200 to $300. So if you can find them, they are a steel.

If connecting to the dome light, it depends which wire you tap from. The yellow is non-accessory power. So just opening your Mav’s door will give it power.
There is a purple wire as well, that gets juice when ignition is On, however it isn’t 12v for some of us. Seems to be a PWM signal (constantly switching from On and Off VERY fast), that seems to change based on dash light brightness. For some that wire worked fine.
At the camera (i.e. IPMA) connector, there is true 12v accessory power. Some don’t like messing with that. I created a harness to go in-between vehicle’s harness and IPMA. See my post: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/cheap-auto-dimming-homelink-mirror.8346/post-360643

Correct. I Built this harness. I splice both positive wires together.
They are not true acc power as it's through at the dome light. They will turn off eventually, but not when some enters the vehicle and for some time after.

Yeah that's where I ordered it. Shipping was cheaper.

Yeah. Kia.parts is the Gilbert AZ location. The reported to me no longer have stock.
