The one that really surprises me is @Tylorious - a Lariat and a FE - that one checks all the "higher margin" boxes (plus it absolutely has to be built this year). I would bet it gets scheduled sometime this month.

With that one exception, the table really puts into perspective the scheduling bias toward Lariat Lux over XLT Lux.

My accepted order was 8/28 for an Alto Blue Lariat Luxury Package Eco Boost with SIBL and Trailer Tow package(added in Oct.). Held fast on constrained list. Had three changes to the build date which ended up being the end of April. Was supposed to be at Chapman between April 25 and May 1. I did some due diligence between Chapman and Ford to keep track at the end. Hence my worrying about a Hex. But......

Shazam, I got an email from Chapman in my SPAM Folder on May 9. Very nice message..... As a result I am flying into Trenton on May 20 to pick it up. I think I will be on the tail end of a 30 vehicle delivery at Chapman that they just got. They are busy processing and it will give me time to get a reasonable priced flight from Chicago.

All indications is that it is going smooth, just need to drive it back.

Getting pumped up and relaxing at the same time!!!!!

I'm almost willing to bet they will produce every single Lariat Lux at the expense of the XLT Lux order-holders. I'm convinced they want to lock in the higher margin sales and deal with rolling over the lower-priced ones instead.

I'm going to disagree. I believe all trims are being produced. While there clearly seems to be a favoring of Lariat over XLT, this may be as much as order rates for each trim vs production of each trim. Here's why.

Data from the forum's order tracker (May 8) is GROSSLY understating production. I will ASSUME (perhaps incorrectly) that it is nonetheless a reasonably unbiased sampling of the population. (After all, there is no better data available).

production month on x-axis, divided into counts of orginal order month (columns). Production for Feb onward greatly exceeds relative reporting here. Nonetheless, we see all trims reported as being built.

Given that the overall counts is small, let's examine by percentage.

X-axis is again production month, bars represent percentage of production by order month. The numbers are small, so error band is HIGH! However, a believable and rational trend is visible. Early orders have been selected while later orders have languished.

More interesting is by trim.

x-axis is build (production) month. bars represent percentage of reported builds for a particular trim. First edition production is rather constant (remember, we are dealing with small numbers). A 'similar' percentage of luxes (xlt and lariat) are being reported as scheduled each production month. We see this every day when a new ford research engineer, friend of brand manager, or just lucky a dog, gets their vehicles scheduled (all trim levels).

I think our limited sampling in the table shows far more August orders than July, and July over June. Ford is building across all trim levels. In my OPINION, we are just seeing the effects of constraints limiting the selections, and XLT Lux being the most popular trim by a lot.

Anecdotally, the process of first in first out, independent of dealer, has failed. The 'got my mav' postings bare that out.

Always some great graphs! I didn't realize there were that few Lariats without Lux packages. XLTs have seemed like the most popular trim and it would seem the XLT Lux would be popular as it has a lot upgrades for most people and is cheaper than a Lux package on Lariat.

It is still very in line. I originally ordered just a Lariat because I don't care for the heated seats, but wanted the upgraded B&O system and a few of the other items that I would've added on anyways separately if not. Its a pricey ugprade, but I guess if you are already going with the Lariat, might as well go all the way.
