I hated, hated HATED the shifter on my old company car (Nissan Rouge) - stupid hockey-puck design where putting it all the way forward (which after 50 years of muscle memory = park) put the f#&$ing car into REVERSE. I can't count how many times I accidently started to back up! Stupid, dangerous design.

The MAVs knob is great in comparison. I like that you just twist it all the way counter-clockwise to park (don't have to count stops.. just give it a twist) OR all the way clockwise to drive,,, again without counting clicks.. just a good twist. It's easy enough and since it's just telling the computer what you want to do you can't accidently put it in reverse and do any damage.

It's not perfect, but believe me now and hear me later... there are WAY WORSE designs out there!

I enjoy not having the shift lever in the way of the cup holders.

You can buy a Ranger, F150, or another vehicle.....

What is to dislike about it? It is an awesome space saving design. Go drive a Chevy Colorado and get back to me!

Yep....you are correct. BUT...be careful as your plugged in phone cord can move the dial out of Drive and into Neutral very easily. Have already done it twice while driving. Easy to correct, just be aware it CAN happen.

Growing up my friend's mom drove an Oldsmobile Bravada (1998 i believe) and she had to abruptly slam on the brakes to avoid rear ending someone, in the process she bumped the massive gear shifter into neutral.

We sat there for a good 3-4 minutes while she revved the engine, convinced the transmission was blown, before she sheepishly put it back into drive and continued on.....

How? What is making your phone cord move while you're driving?

Your shifter must take about 10% of the effort to turn that mine does if a cord alone can turn it.

Very easily…. I’m pulling the phone up to enter a new location on my iPhone map app. like I mentioned, I don’t grab the phone very often, but I have done it a couple of times where it’s actually taken the shifter out of drive. And where I have it resting in the little triangle slanted orange space that’s exactly where the cord hangs.

I hear you, but I’ve actually done it two times. I have a short cord coming out of the USB-C and if it’s wrapped just right, it moves it. 🥴🥴

You might try a longer cord. I understand that you want it to be tidy, but my phone is mounted to the "cubby" and I use a longer cord that doesn't come within a foot of the shifter.
