So if we find a crashed Maverick could one just remove the rear glass and power box behind the rear seat plus the switch up front to change out the non-powered slider in a xlt?

I would think that is a reasonable assumption.

This thread is old. Now that the trucks are out could anyone with a power rear window take some pictures. I’m wondering if only the window and motor/cable system can be swapped from a salvage unit without actually swapping the whole rear window?

An old thread, but I would like to know this too. I used to take windows completely out of vehicles 30 years ago to tint them, back when it was arguably easy to take glass out. It would be nice if the wiring for this was already present. I would have ordered a power slider for our XLT had it been available.

I always felt if you want an XLT and ordered a Power Sunroof that you should also get a power sliding rear window option... but obviously Ford felt differently.. as now you can't even get a manual slider for the XLT... oh well... I do know the trim is different in the back for sliding window vs sliding window... but would imagine it's quite similar between manual sliding window and power sliding window.. I'll have my Lariat sometime in Dec (build date of 12/4 but I live right on the US/Mex border above the HMO plant, so I'll get mine rather quickly I believe), so I can take photos then.

I’d love some photos. I’m an engineer and XLT manual sliding back window with power moonroof owner.

Installing the power rear window OEM style would be a tall task. The switch and motor are all intergrated via the Body Control Module. Multiple non-serviceable relays are inside the BCM that power the motor. I have no idea if they are already included on our BCMs, you might have to get a lariat BCM.

Ideally I would be able to
Swap parts from a power sliding window into my manual sliding window without having to fully replace the window. I’m talking replace the sliding small center window and swap the inserts with cables and mount the motor. Then I’d hard wire the motor and a switch and bypass the computer. That would only work if there’s a limit switch to cut power when fully open or closed. Spitballing here. If I could see both window assemblies together

Not in the BCM but the underhood battery junction box. And it's a simple relay configuration so even if it wasn't equipped then not much to implement externally. It's pretty much a straightforward power window circuit other than the switch isn't set up to run the amperage of the window directly so has to resort to two relays.

Thanks for posting. My manual slider has the same track without the cable. Does the power window have a locking mechanism on the window?
