I have ceramic IR tint all around on my Alto blue Maverick and was surprised just how much a difference it made in the interior heat, being a dark color - granted, I did ALL the windows, so if you only do the windshield, not sure how much difference that would make...I will never have another dark color vehicle without doing IR tint all around...
I just noticed your are in Texas, so I would recommend in a heartbeat...

I had my windows dark tinted and it made a difference here in Abilene, TX. However, while you can have the top portion ‘brow’ of the windshield tinted, the rest cannot. Still, the dark tinting of the side windows does make a difference.

I have tint on all the other windows, but not sure ifs ceramic, dealer did.
Not sure about all brands, but all 3M Ceramic films will block a significant amount (around 70%) of IR energy from passing into the cab, regardless of the visible tint level you choose. The highest VLT my 3M installer uses is 80%. Not sure if 3M has completely clear or not. Other brands might. 80% VLT is really hard to tell it's there, except for the significant heat reduction.

For the eyebrow, typically, you can legally dark-tint down to the AS1↓ line on the windshield. It may vary by state.

Ceramic is expensive, but IMO, the added heat reduction without having to use super dark tint is worth it in the South.

I am in Burnet county Texas near Austin. I had ceramic with UV PLUS THE IR Also. (All ceramic does not necessarily include the infra red blockage so you must pay extra to get up to 98% ir blockage. The infrared produces most of the heat.). I had the 4 doors and rear window done on mine. With a noticeable reduction in heat. In spring and summer I park with windshield facing away from sun to lower the amount of infrared. I elected to not get the 5% light reduction tint with the 98+% IR on windshield but on next vehicle I will, I believe it was $80-$100 more. Even without the windshield I could get into car in middle of day and AC would have temp down in really short order and not have to be on max AC for five minutes or longer. If you do not IR the windshield you can park with it facing the sun in winter and the IR light entering will help keep interior warmer.

$80 to $100 to tint a full windshield is a good price. I'd heard $250 was more in the ballpark. I wasn't going to do it for $250 considering the likelihood of needing the windshield replaced at some point. The Maverick has a really strong AC. Between that and being able to remote start it for cool down, I'm still not sure I'm going to do it.

that was "more". I just called one place and standard clear was 250, deluxe 300ish and 50 for the 75% brow. Going to call around, but I'm sure they're all close to that. May just get the brow.

I've heard some pretty good stories about ceramic tint even in the not so tinted variants, like 70 or 80% for the front windshield. I've never gotten it because I don't need it, but if I lived somewhere like CA I'd likely pay the extra for it. Everywhere I have asked it's basically double the price and for me that's just not worth it.

The $80-$100 was 2 years ago and was the add on amount by MSRP dealer to the $350 after $90 discount for the other five windows one with the rear slider. FYI the precut pieces can be ordered online for a much reduced amount. My son tells me it's a snap to put them on but he lives across country. He is insurance adjuster and travels. His wife is bringing the kids to visit for three days in a couple weeks. He has been on road since Jan 12th and hasn't seen them since then. She tries to travel to his assignment location every 90-120 days if it's within a 10 Hour drive.

I got all windows and windshield "Xpel XR Prime" Ceramic filmed. So far I love it. The windshield was the most expensive part at $250 installed. One thing to note, that with Polarized Sunglasses, you might notice a tiny bit of Color Haze towards the top of the windshield. It is a non issue for me, but I thought I might point that out. It is perfectly clear without Polarized sunglasses. Good luck.

Ceramic makes a huge difference. I simply added XPEL XR blue 80 to all windows, except the windshield (didn't want to pay $250 for that, as it was $300 for the other 5).
The film has no negative affect for driver's visibility, but still adds privacy b/c it adds more reflection vs the stock windows. I just want the heat rejection and don't need any darker.

I am tempted to do the windshield on our Sienna - that is a big chunk of glass and lets in more heat while driving, plus a lot more cabin volume for the AC to deal with. For the Mav I don't feel it necessary (where we live).

TL;DR - def. worth the $ if you plan on keeping the vehicle long enough.

I called one place, $300 for clear windshield, $50 for tinted brow. $350 if I want the ultra (which supposedly blocks all the heat). It was 86 degrees yesterday and my interior was already crazy hot (I was using a sun shield too). I'm not looking forward to the 100+ degree days coming soon.

Tinting the windshield with ceramic basically does the same as putting a sunshade in the window
At least in my vehicles it has felt like that
I’ve done ceramic all the way around in all my vehicles over the last 10 years

In the Skyline I did clear ceramic in all windows for the heat rejection but also to protect the interior from UV

In my F150 the interior would only start to get hot hours after I parked it (black interior)

I would def recommend it to anyone that parks outside regularly
