Driving home tonight at 65mph using cruise control, my CEL came on. FordPass app says “The Engine control system has reached its adaptive learning limits with the fuel control system. The Engine Start/Stop feature (if equipped) may be disabled when this fault is present.” I had notice my Fuelly tracked MPG was a little lower on my last fill up but attributed it to colder weather.

I’ve yet to pull the actual code, so can’t answer that, but was wondering if this is related to any of the recalls so that I can nudge the dealer in the right direction. I know they should be competent, but ya never know these days.

Also it’s a 23 XL Hyrid.

The wording makes it sound kind of good. Like your Mav is as smart as it can get!

Hahahah I wish. But my mpg is down 4-5 mpg and was just much lower than expected. Truck is a year old and shouldn’t have a CEL. 80% highway driving and never over speed limit.

there are a lot of people in this world that are as smart as they can get, but sadly it isn't all that smart. ;)

My CEL happened a little after 1 year. I hope everything works out for you! Keep us posted. I don’t think I’ve seen this issue yet.

Cool cool. I’ve got 15k miles but mostly highway. I’d assume this will be warranty.

P0171 System too lean bank 1. Any ideas about this.
Have you recently done any modifications to the engine? Even something simple like a catch can mod?

Running lean means there is too much air in the fuel mix. Something isn't right for sure.

It could just be a bad oxygen sensor, but it could also be a vacuum leak, amongst other possibilities.

Very strange. I’ve not done anything at all to it. No rough driving. No mods. Hopefully this is warranty covered.

These things do happen, even if you don't do anything to the vehicle. It could be a connection in the air system that came loose, or as I said a bad sensor (like anything else chips fail sometimes at random). It's highly likely you'll get warranty coverage.

It’s bone stock minus a tonneau cover and driven like a grandpa. No way should there be problems
