Car smells like smoke when I’m driving

The other day I was driving on the highway and someone nearly hit me and so I had to speed up to get out of the way as they were paying attention to their cell phone and not the road. So I’m lucky to have not gotten hit but when I was accelerating it felt like the car didn’t wanna go very far or at least accelerate. So now when I start up the car in the morning it stays at a high revved sound and it won’t switch gears so to speak and now as of yesterday it starts to smell like smoke when I started up at does so for a little bit. And then it goes away. I am wondering what is going on. This car is only three months old

Hey! OP ....what did the dealer find wrong with your parking brake last week ?

they said there was something misfiring electronically. They said they wanted to have me bring it in for 2 to 3 days. They said it was two most likely but three if they need to extend it. Not quite sure how you can’t figure something out in one day but what do I know. They told me apparently that they can see everything that goes wrong with the car without me having to tell them cause it sends the messages to their system I’ve never had a car like that. Most times whenever I needed to get something done it would be me scheduling an appointment and going in and getting the car worked on if I couldn’t do it myself. I am curious to know what truly is misfiring

She doesn’t smoke. And they better not be smoking. They are kind of young to do that

about 20 years ago, a friend shipped her old computer for my kids just after giving up chain-smoking.

So she'd been sitting near the air intake on the computer for several ours a day puffing.

The machine reeked. Thick layers of brown scum all over.

I made my oldest daughter, I suppose 11 or so at the time, help me clean it.

She was appropriately discussed , and never even considered smoking one herself!

Well ....if you smell smoke you better get it into the dealership ASAP ....it's under warranty , you don't want to catch on fire .
And while it's there have them figure out why your parking brake was turning itself on , or was that the " missfiring " issue you were talking about ?

It sounds like you’re having buyers remorse for purchasing your Maverick and you're trying to build a case that your xl is a lemon so that Ford will buy it back at full price, instead of you having to pay the depreciation to trade it in a on new car with better seats, better stereo and better acceleration?

If so, you should try to make claims to Ford that your Maverick is a safety hazard, like it is randomly shutting down on the freeway while driving, possibly endangering you or your family’s lives. That will light a fire under them to help you get it bought back without having to lose your pants in depreciation.
