Auto lights staying on all the time when driving

Has anyone have this problem of having all the lights (headlights, taillights, etc.) being on, when driving, both day and night when the light switch is in the auto mode? Recently changed the parking light bulbs to Canbus Led switchback bulbs.

And if the display mode is on auto it always goes to night mode

In Canada all vehicles after 2021 have to have all the lights on with DRL. Too many people driving in the dark with just the DRL

This is an odd issue and sounds like you have a malfunction with the ambient light sensor. May need to take it to the dealer.

I have owned a 22 Maverick XL and the DRL does run the low beam headlights but it does not run the taillights. OP has an issue.

Did you tint your windshield? Is there a bird turd on the windshield in front of the light sensor. Perhaps the light sensor was not properly calibrated? Recalibration has to be done when windshield is replaced due to variance in light transmission through different windshields

I have the same issue with my xl hybrid. I will be following to see if anyone has fix this problem.

No windshield is clean and I have not tinted the windshield.

it's not the DRL. the system turns to "night mode" and the display is dark. headlights indicator is on the dashboard. the taillights and headlights are on when it is sunny blue sky

So I figure it out. Need to turn the car on and in the cluster go to settings and turn off daytime running lights and uncheck it.
