Personally, it sounds to me like this person (Bullitt1448) is in someway affiliated with Hyundai trying to dissuade people from buying a Maverick. Just my 2 cents! Like some of you mentioned why join to just to make your first post a big negative about the vehicle. Just go on your way, and Thank you!

On to positive news, Got my Sticker and blend date is 11/17. Have by end of year, who knows?
Nope, no affiliation with any brand or dealer, just observations on our end, not going to buy either so I am not trying to hype the Cruze over the Maverick. We have generally been Ford folks for our daily’s so might just end up with another F150. Too bad some on here are afraid of a little criticism from someone that didn’t see the value in something that should have been appointed a little nicer in my opinion and that opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it. It’s my money and I will spend it on something the wife and I like, feel free to do the same with yours.

Jeez, some of you guys are as bad as Tesla stans with this blind devotion to a vehicle. You go into immediate attack mode just because someone posted an opinion that wasn't 100% rosy. It's just a car. Chill out
Thanks Bj517!

Man, sorry it was so disappointing. Glad you were able to take a look at one in person before yours was delivered. (Of course, there’s the side of me thinking you could’ve kept the order; bought the vehicle; and turned it around for a pretty sweet profit.)

It’s funny; everything you found to be bad is actually what I like about it - the size, interior, space, et cetera. Granted, I currently drive a Mini Cooper Countryman S, which I love - and not an F150. I’m also 5’7” and a bit over a buck fifty, so I don’t take up that much space anyway. I guess that’s why it feels spacious to me. 😂🤣

It’s definitely not a truck for everybody. Man, I wish you the best finding the truck for you. Maybe the F150 Lightening might be a better fit.

I suggest going to a Tesla forum and having your first post be saying you cancelled an order because your Tesla had misaligned body panels and see the reaction.

I personally also did not like the Santa Cruz. Only thing I did like about it was the tonneau cover and that it was a 2.5 turbo,. It was quick.

If you’ve been lurking you should know most of us are a bit biased and generally ass holes to people who don’t like what we like. In the end you helped me by moving on and I appreciate that. The polar differences between the Santa Cruz and Maverick speak to two different people. I’ve made my choice and Ford will give me a truck in a couple years.

I agree on the piano black. The never ending fingerprints would drive me nuts.
One of the issues, albeit very minor, that I hate on my 2018 Outback.

I have been a long time lurker here, I have read a good portion of the articles on the Maverick and thought I knew what to expect. My wife on the other hand hasn't read much on the unit and her first impressions were similar to mine. I felt I had nothing to contribute , good or bad until I had laid eyes one in person, Unlike others on here I try not to speculate on what might be. We have a 10 year old F150 Lariat that I drive and she has a 2019 Mercedes GLC 300 suv and she wanted a small pickup that didn't break the bank. Both of our current units have plastic interiors but both seem to blend quite nicely with the vehicles' interiors, where as the Maverick interior doesn't match anything else on the truck. Dimensionally, the Santa Cruze is shorter in length but it appears more proportional to our eyes and we do like the black interior in the Santa Cruze at least there is some continuity, This was not meant to put anyone else off, it was just our observation of a unit that we had not seen in person till this weekend. We ordered July 06/21 and the unit arrived Nov 15/21, Pretty much on schedule with what the dealer told us when we ordered. The price as ordered in Canada was a tick over $43,000 Cdn at MRSP before tax, so not an entry level truck by anyone's imagination. My expectations were high and the unit did not live up to them. To those that want to hate me for choosing to not spend my own money on something I don't want , go ahead, not going to hurt my feelings and if it makes you feel better to vent, I am happy for you. I do hope that others enjoy their units, it just isn't what we wanted or expected in a unit at that price point,
that's exactly what the Maverick is. If that was the priority here- it has been met. Maybe the disconnect was adding in a whole bunch of other stuff here to make it more like a top level Mercedes or Lariat total experience and moving the goal posts instead of realizing it is what it is and nails that.

no, we're reacting to someone who had unrealistic expectations from the start and claims to have ordered sight unseen. That's hardly an "attack"
Plenty of people ordered sight unseen, myself included. You have to at least admit that the posts accusing him of being a Hyundai shill are bordering on conspiracy theory-level crazy.

no, I really don't have to admit that. Did you get your truck? If yes, met your expectations? If no, please don't come back here and dis the truck for petty shit that could have been avoided.
But , thanks for playing!

There seems to be a lot of butt hurt here over an opinion that is of no consequence to anyone but the guy spending his own money looking for something this unit wasn’t. Get over it boys and girls. Dealer sells at MRSP so not much sense in me purchasing the truck and trying to flip it for profit. If you love your Maverick, I am happy for you, I was hoping we would be too. it just didn’t fit with our expectations, I really hope it fits yours when yours finally arrives.

The issue is his very first post on the forum is knocking the truck because it doesn't live up to his F150 or Mercedes. I don't see the value in the post. I don't care for the Santa Cruz but I don't go creating an account on their forum just to tell them. Then, when he naturally gets called out, he plays the victim and doubles down on it. This is the classic definition of a troll.

got our first look at our Maverick this past weekend. without much deliberation, wife and I both found it very lacking.,to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. looks considerably smaller than the Santa Cruze, and ridgeline, we were expecting much the same lines. this was a 2.0 loaded alto blue, FX4 with lux package and 4k towing. We were expecting the same sort of trim level as in our 10 year old Lariat F150 and found it cramped with about an acre of plastic that looks like plastic, I know my F150 has about the same amount of plastic in the cabin but it is well disguised, no attempt to cover it up it the Maverick this was not a 20.000 dollar lower end of the spectrum truck, this was fully loaded with pretty much every available option added to the Lariat. never again going to order a vehicle sight unseen. This was a long wait for a disappointing unit
Sounds like you are too big for the truck, I’m 6’1’’ 225 lbs. I couldn’t believe how spacious it was for a small truck. Sounds like you need a full-size. The ridgeline is way bigger, everyone knows that. The Mavericks sweet spot is 42 mpg city for $20,000. If you decide to almost double the price and pay extra for a less efficient engine then that was your mistake. You could buy at least two Mavericks for one ridgeline.
