I have a hard time believing that you had absolutely no resources and no information at all about the Mav's interior and how plastic heavy it is. I think every video on YouTube and every review out there points out, in detail, the plastic, the designs, the materials, etc, etc, etc. I think every review, even the positive ones, mention how cheap the interior is, in terms of the plastic and the use of recycled materials. It's one thing to never read any of the topics or discussions here, and quite another to not do any type of research at all. I hunted every dealership within 50 miles of me to find out when they would have a Mav so I could sit in it, which would have made me choose between buying something else, or waiting until my early December delivery. You're right, ordering something sight unseen sucks, but there are ways to make it work, and it seems like you just ordered and didn't follow up in terms of doing your own research to determine whether or not to stay on the Mav bandwagon. This would have helped your expectations. The disappointment is basically on you.

got our first look at our Maverick this past weekend. without much deliberation,wife and I both found it very lacking.,to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. looks considerably smaller than the Santa Cruze, and ridgeline, we were expecting much the same lines. this was a 2.0 loaded alto blue, FX4 with lux package and 4k towing. We were expecting the same sort of trim level as in our 10 year old Lariat F150 and found it cramped with about an acre of plastic that looks like plastic, I know my F150 has about the same amount of plastic in the cabin but it is well disguised, no attempt to cover it up it the Maverick this was not a 20.000 dollar lower end of the spectrum truck, this was fully loaded with pretty much every available option added to the Lariat. never again going to order a vehicle sight unseen. This was a long wait for a disappointing unit

I can see you being disappointed as likely the cost for a fully loaded was pretty pricey. But really you should have asked the dealer or did some research about what kind of interior trim improvements would come with it. If the highlights of a particular model didn't specific interior imiprovements then you weren't going to get any, you can't just assume they were going to swap out plastic for something padded. As to the sizing differences vs the Cruze...man..it's simple to get the stats of the two vehicles and do your own analysis not to mention there are plenty of articles out there of Cruze vs Mavarick which would have shown you the differences including size and interior etc. You could have avoided the long disappointing wait by just spending a day on your own up front doing your research, you were about to plunk down likely $30K ...I guess I don't quite get it.

I did days of looking at different trucks till I landed on the Maverick and I still looked at the Ranger. Granted seeing the Maverick in person does help for sure, it was a sold model but I was able to sit in it to look at it. But I mean I watched/read 20+ different reviews to get the best idea I could before ordering one.
Then I find it funny how people cry about “Why is there dealer stock” people do drop there orders or do not want them when they come in for whatever reason…THE MORE YOU KNOW!!!!

I mean, I have been so excited about an affordable truck that I still think that I will love mine when it gets here, but it does makes me want to take a look at the most affordable version of the Santa Cruz and compare. In videos and pictures they look about the same size, but the Mav looks more like a truck and not so much like an suv trying too hard.

I saw a Santa Cruz in the wild yesterday. Freakin’ cool! I average up to 1000 miles a week driving to different customers for service calls. I drive by many a Ford Dealer en route to aforementioned service calls. I have yet to see a Macerick in the wild or on a dealer lot.

Keep in mind everyone that he is used to an F150. You could probably put the cabin of the Mav into the F150 Crew Cab and still have room for 2 more peeps. Everyone's perspective is different.

Ford has said that this is a truck for those moving up from a sedan. For me, coming from a Fusion, it will feel roomy. Plus, I am also used to the interior of our Ranger which, shockingly, is a bit tighter in some dimensions than the Mav. However, if you are coming down in size from a recent F150 Crew Cab the Mav we be 'small.' The OP just decided that is a bit too small for them. No biggie.

I’ve test driven both an eco Maverick and base Santa Cruz. SC does feel bigger inside but really isn’t when you start moving around. I can’t explain why it “feels” bigger. But i went with Maverick because it feels and looks like a truck which I prefer. That and I’m a cheapskate and my XLT hybrid was 5k cheaper than the Sc test drove. That and MPG sold me on Maverick

I have been a long time lurker here, I have read a good portion of the articles on the Maverick and thought I knew what to expect. My wife on the other hand hasn't read much on the unit and her first impressions were similar to mine. I felt I had nothing to contribute , good or bad until I had laid eyes one in person, Unlike others on here I try not to speculate on what might be. We have a 10 year old F150 Lariat that I drive and she has a 2019 Mercedes GLC 300 suv and she wanted a small pickup that didn't break the bank. Both of our current units have plastic interiors but both seem to blend quite nicely with the vehicles' interiors, where as the Maverick interior doesn't match anything else on the truck. Dimensionally, the Santa Cruze is shorter in length but it appears more proportional to our eyes and we do like the black interior in the Santa Cruze at least there is some continuity, This was not meant to put anyone else off, it was just our observation of a unit that we had not seen in person till this weekend. We ordered July 06/21 and the unit arrived Nov 15/21, Pretty much on schedule with what the dealer told us when we ordered. The price as ordered in Canada was a tick over $43,000 Cdn at MRSP before tax, so not an entry level truck by anyone's imagination. My expectations were high and the unit did not live up to them. To those that want to hate me for choosing to not spend my own money on something I don't want , go ahead, not going to hurt my feelings and if it makes you feel better to vent, I am happy for you. I do hope that others enjoy their units, it just isn't what we wanted or expected in a unit at that price point,

I'm surprised someone wouldn't have done some investigation on the Maverick before ordering. I knew what I was getting. My only concern was that the salesman would screw things up (as read on this site before ordering) until he said, " I've got to get a signature and while I do why don't you go check out the Area51 Maverick we have". That assured me they knew how to order...also was aware of the wait time. I've had 3, F-150's in a row (current 2013) and the re-sale value of it (selling it privately) is a lot higher than I thought so I can re pay most of what I need to borrow for the Maverick. They say buying a vehicle is the second largest purchase of your life (after a house) so why wouldn't you investigate properly first...makes no sense to me.

Very odd first post. Why would your first post in a Maverick enthusiast forum be that you cancelled your order. You do realize that you sound like a Hyundia dealer trying to bash the Maverick. What is odd too, is that NO ONE that has seen the Maverick in person has said.... well... that was dissapointing. As a matter of fact.. the reaction is mostly the opposite. You post doesn't reek a little... it reeks a lot.
