Yes it's on the due bill. I wasn't expecting them to do this. They really want to screw their new customer over such a small item. Bought mine from aaron ford poway. I haven't been able to hold of the person that sold me the car. When I text, he will reply say he will get back to me and never does. No answer if I call but he will answer if I withheld my number. First it's finance is working on it, now it's the service.

Can't believe you got the spray in for $500, that is awesome deal. They made it sound like they can a good dealer discount so I should go with them. It's really a pity because I love the truck and yet have had such a bad experience with them. I think it might be them that screwed me last time on a oil change for a different car. The works is like around 90 bucks and I signed for the quote. After it was done they said oh they made a mistake on pricing so it's over 150. I had to haggle it down.

Thanks for the advices, at least I know what I need to do if it comes down to that. Fingers cross I still give them the benefit of doubt but I'll start turning up to the dealership every day if they continue to mess me around.
Hi XK - RE: $500 cash for SIBL - I emphasized to Line-X it's a small truck, not as much product, not as much time to prep etc.

RE: Can't get in touch with salesperson? Go to the next level, the sales manager. Tell him specifically in your voice mail you are calling to schedule the SIBL. Or if they are "too busy", just refund the $750 and you will get it done yourself.

On the Aaron Ford website, at the top of the page, look on the far right "About our dealership". Scroll and find the sales manager. There it says "email me" and do that. In the email, rather than complain except to say your salesperson is ghosting you, tell him you are writing to schedule the SIBL. If they can't do it in a reasonable time frame, you want a refund of the $750. Snap a photo of the email before you hit send.

You will get all manner of excuses; the salesperson is new, s/he is sick, on vacation, etc. or s/he doesn't work there any more.

If you have time to do it, offer in the email to take your truck directly to the place where they do the work and have them arrange to bill the dealership as I doubt it is done at the dealership. The hold up could be related to the fact they need a lot attendant to drive it to the Line-X shop, get a ride back to the dealer, then go and pick up the truck etc.. This requires two lots attendants. Keep a copy of ALL correspondence, start a file.

Meanwhile, enjoy your trucklet! Mavs are really nice and it will be just fine in the meanwhile without the SIBL.

its on the list of work that needs to be done. My first time buying a new car so I just thought that was normal. Am I kinda screwed then?
Not screwed. These are perfectly normal and common.

What this is called is a We Owe and it is a binding contract. They either have to perform the service as sold to you or refund the money. They have no option. Stay on their ass.

My local dealer has the SIBL done locally by Line-X because it's more durable than Ford's and if you need any touch-ups later, they will match. You can also get it in colors, or have accessories done to match. Cost is similar, but Line-X has some advantages...

Drive to the dealer and ask them when it will be done. Do not let them s__t you around. Then ask them for the phone number for regional, and make sure they give it to you. Threaten to call another dealer if they will not give it out. They never want a customer to speak with regional. It looks really bad for them. Also tell them you will be filling out the survey you got from Ford, even if you never got a survey. Than things should start happening.

Stop wasting your time calling them and just go straight to the dealership and deal with it in person. Tell them you'll wait there as long as you need for this to be straightened out and that you aren't leaving until you have an appointment set up to have it installed. Also, as someone else mentioned don't be afraid to let them know that you received a survey and you plan on completing the survey in the next few days. Anything but a perfect score on those surveys is an automatic failure for the salesperson.

Thanks for all the solid advices. I went in and got it sorted. It's really ridiculous that most of them sat there doing nothing and claims the have a backlog of requests so they couldn't get back to me.

I don't know if I should fill in the survey or not. But we will see if they actually do a good job on the sibl.

jfc. The lies man, I asked where they are going to do the spray in. They said at the dealer and not offsite, that's why they want to wait for the parts. Luckily I have apple tracker on my car. They took my car 30 miles away to a rhino store. Guess I should be happy because it will be done correctly and not some poor tech trying to do spray in for the first time in their life.

Let's not act like the guys at the Line X shop are a bunch of master applicators. They might be great they might be randos.

Tell the dealer they can get it done or you'll get your money back in small claims court. This is not a case of you're SOL if they don't do it, there is a contract and they did not deliver.
