Yikes... In SoCal here so probably going to get ripped off even more. What I'm worried is that they might have nested themselves somewhere. On my other car, luckily I found the nest in the cabin filter before they started using it. It was freshly made and clean using shredded cardboard.
We are lucky enough that I believe they never chew any harness. There is an abundance of food around the area that they are just forage. Then again I don't want to take the risk so I guess I'll need to set the traps in the winter as that's when they usually come for the heat.
I agree. It got so bad that I have to clean the engine daily and several hours later it would be filled with poop, pee and crumbs. I'm going to be setting a few more traps and maybe when this is all over I'll get a detailer to clean the engine bay.
I know the engine needs to run for it to generate heat as it's not like a EV with heat pump. But I thought the car would automatically turn on the engine to heat up the cabin like when you start it from the app. I'll ask her to make sure the temperature is set higher next time.
Is this why on my wife 10 miles to work. She sometimes say the heating is not working? I took it one early morning and because the freeway was just crawling around 50mph all downhill and it was on electric mode almost the entire way. I noticed it didn't get warm during that 20 minutes drive...
It's just a catchmaster trap that my neighbor gave me. The pest have been haunting me and my neighbor for months and left hundreds of fruits, nuts, dropping on all our cars. We tried peppermint spray, cayenne pepper, sticky pad, more humane ways like a trap door cage. None of that worked. It was...
Now... How do I clean up the mess? I vacuum most of the poop and food. Before I go buy meguire APC or degreaser. Just making sure it's the right way so I don't do any electronic damages. So spray it on the engine bay then brush and use a rag to clean off the urine? It peed on some screws so I...
Sounds like the general census is that you keep TCS on for day to day. For the times that you're driving slow and possibly getting stuck then you turn off tcs and put in slippery for best results.
I noticed this. Some days traffic is going fast so I need fast acceleration when light turns green. I noticed I got better mpg compared to when Im just doing slow acceleration until cruising speed.
Sure there are days when no one is on the road and I can get to 50mpg. However on the next drive...
Yeah I heard cc2 is great. I'll most likely go with the defender as I had them in my last suv and it was great. I don't live in snow or wet area but Im outdoor person so I'm out in the mountains when it snow and rain.
Just trying to maximize the tires as I don't want t to waste them when they...
Agree on not hyper-milling when there's other cars around you. Which is why I'm getting 38mpg average for the past 13k miles. I would stay in 90 if I have to keep with the flow of the traffic even if it decimates my mpg. However for those camping trips that I'm out in the rural roads with no one...
Been raining quite a bit in SoCal so I've started to get some wheel slip even crusing at 65mph while going straight. Every time I see the traction light comes up, the truck cuts power. I used to drive a stick for over 10 years so I know how to handle my car, in my older cars I didn't even have...
From stationary, would you accelerate slowly while staying in electric or do you just floor it until you're cruising then it hopefully cuts over to electric? I feel like if I try to accelerate slowly and stay in the electric range. It would use up all the HV battery and by the time I get to...
once I set it to slippery mode. I was able to get the wheel spinning slowly to get some traction. Since after switching to that mode. The traction light no longer going off but I can still feel the wheel spin.
I feel with the traction on. It is cutting power every time when it slips. So I think...
Obvious you didn't read. How slow do I have to go when Im doing only 5mph? I got it on dashcam. Second day we were all slow because a car didn't want to use turnout so had over 20 cars stuck behind them. Plus road was completely cleared apart from the mush that was falling off trees. Forecast...
Tried it again today. Its a disaster. It was sliding all over the place going straight with no incline at 30mph.
Cant wait to get rid of it when it wears out. I was crawling up the mountain with a line of cars, from what I can see. No cars in front had traction issues when it hit tiny patches...
Got the hybrid and unsure if it's just the stock tire and tires still in the break in period with 3k miles? I've had other cars before but never had such bad traction. I was doing like 5mph trying to go up an incline, sure it's ice and mush. But all other cars were able to go up no issue. I...
