My 2024 on its 20,000 mile service right before Bambi totaled it.
I ask and my Ford dealer let me in the service department for a quick look at my brakes with the wheels off for a rotation. I drive in the mountains. Not much city.
My brakes looked as good as new.

Yours look like they have suffered extreme heat.
If not heavy loads or city stop and go then,,,,

Are you riding around with your left foot hovering over or touching the brake pedal ?

Premature wear and damage like you have is often brake riding that the driver would never admit to. We are human, we do things like this.

Think about it, be honest with your self.
If your sure you don’t do that AT ALL then
You better get a letter off to Ford Corporate.
And pull your wheels in 5,000 miles and inspect.
Again at 20,000 mine were like new. Yours look like you could have a very serious problem in the brake system.
I'm about as easy as it gets on brakes. Usually got 65000 on my 2 fusions.
No towing and the cruise Adaptive braking is off.
6000 to 7000 miles were on a Florida vacation . Almost 99 percent of my miles are highway.
I wish I had pictures of the rotors. 1/32 to 1/16 th quarter size pits all over them.
I doesn't sit for days on end or tow.

That has to be one of the strangest problems I’ve heard yet. I’d be looking at my rotors monthly if that happened to me.

Thinking others should have been experiencing this based on what the dealership told me
My Maverick '24 XL EB has warped rotors front and back, for sure. I don't even need to measure it, I feel vibration both in the brake pedal and the steering wheel.

And here's the kicker - this happened at less than 18,000 miles! The dealership wouldn't cover anything - they told me - tough luck basically. Their argument - the vehicle is year and a half old!

My impression - Ford Maverick comes equipped with bottom tier brakes. I have no recollection of EVER stopping hard or in a puddle!

I am putting on PowerStop K8940 (front and back) - a complete kit of rotors and pads for less than $300. The dealership gave me a quote for nearly a thousand dollars, to do just the back (and put another set of crap components).

So has anyone else had brake pads/ rotor issues?
At 20,000 miles my rotors self destruction.
1/16 inch pits all over the rears and the fronts warped ans grooved severely.
The dealer replaced them under warranty but wouldn't do the pads 🤷 which the rears were destroyed because of the rotors.

I replaced my front pads at 1787 miles because they would scream everytime I stopped. Wet or dry made no difference. Hot or cold made no difference.

When I changed the pads both pads on the passenger side were cracked and the outside pad on the driver side was cracked. Inside pad was glazed really bad. No, I do not and have not ever ridden the brake.

Since they are "consumable parts" the dealer said "too bad"...but for $325 we can replace them if you leave your truck for the day. Took me 30 minutes to do both sides including jacking, removing, replacing and lowering the truck. All day my arse.

Cheap junk is all I can say they use. Had same issue when I bought my 2019 Edge ST with performance brakes package. They performed for about 4900 miles then I had to replace all the pads. Rotors were all good - no warping. But my 2017 F-150 had no issue.

My RAM 1500 still has the original pads at 25K miles.

Oh well. If I buy another Ford I'm going to factor that cost into my negotiation.

I can go online and buy the cheapest ones I can find and they'd last as long as these.
So much for quality dealer parts.
It appears to be a trend because a few others have had this issue and the dealership admitted they'd seen it a number of times.

It's also spent a month at the dealer for multiple ACM issues and replacement. Sometimes the dash works and others it doesn't.
Sometimes it goes black and others the touch screen doesn't work.
I'd say the the quality of mine is somewhere around non-existent.
It's going back next week for yet another try on those.
When I get it back I'm going shopping for anything but a Ford.
" Quality is job #1" doesn't seem to exist anymore
Does NY have a useable Lemon law? I think I would like to get away from that truck!

Brakes wearing faster on newer cars today could be caused by traction control. Do you drive in a lot of snow, rain, dirt, ice? The reason the all wheel drive works so well is the brakes are being applied by the computer often for traction purposes. Shifting the power from the spinning wheel to others.

Were the pads worn evenly side to side?

I have full size trucks I drive in inclement weather. I basically use this a a long trip vehicle. Both rear pads were shot and the fronts were 85% left. The junk factory rotors were what chewed them to pieces

Might better start.
They lost 2 sales today after speaking to 2 strangers in a parking lot that asked me how I liked it. Both changed their minds about buying one. One was a mechanic and saw the new pads and rotors and figured it had 50,000 on it so he'd get a longer mileage opinion. He was applaud that the brakes were shot at 21,000 and Ford didn't cover them

Funny how negative publicity works especially when it comes from a person that works on vehicles 😉
Had a buddy once tell me a story about an issue he had with a popular local Chevy dealer. He had went in to get some service done on his car on a busy day with lots of customers. They somehow tried to screw him out of his warranty on something clearly stated was covered. After 2 or 3 rounds of arguing with the service dept, he decided to take it up with the dealership management. Again getting no where, he said he just got real vocal and shouted "Im gonna sue this f#cking dealership, and when I win, Im gonna rename it C@ck Sucker Chevrolet!".

I guess he must of been pretty convincing.... He said you could hear a pin drop from the silence for a few minutes as customers were walking out the doors and leaving the dealership. Oh, and BTW, he claimed they did decide to fix his issue as a warranty claim too....

So yeah.... I think some folks can definetly get their point across and change the minds of others. 🤣

They do and I'm definitely getting rid of it.
I only purchased it as a long trip vehicle.
Debated buy a RAV4 but it didn't have towing capability on the ones I looked at so I settled for the maverick. Now they have 3500 lbs towing so after this next trip to the dealership I'm going up the street to toyota and looking at those.

I did this when I first bought it and found out that the salesman and sales manager both lied about the features that they claimed it had but then found out that it didn't.

I went off on both in the showroom at both of them for lying or both being plain stupid about the product they're selling.
It got to the point of the owner calling me and apologizing for his staff. I should have returned it then and gone a different route.

The brake inspection at 20,000 miles on my 2024 Lariat, they looked like new.
I drive in the mountains. I make em hot now and then.
57,000 on my Bronco Sport when I traded it in on my first Mav. The brakes were plenty thick.

Like what features you talking about here?

I take it you have a few orbits around the sun under your belt to know "trust, but verify" should be the motto when dealing with dealerships.

I just had my 20k inspection completed and the rotors and pads look like they could go another 45k easily. I drive pretty conservatively but do brake hard when necessary. Some light off roading here in the desert but except for the extreme summer heat not much in the way of inclement weather. It is unfortunate but it sounds like you did get the short straw on those rotors with a bad batch. With them now replaced and new pads I’ll bet you won’t have the same problem again. But then again, there are no sure bets.
