Funny, my dealer is almost doing to opposite. I ordered a fully loaded 2.0EB Lariat (every contrained item you can think of) in early Janurary '22. They keep telling me they are confident it will get built this year. I don't really see how. We'll see I guess.

I just got this notice from the dealer. I ordered back in January. This was for an XLT Ecoboost build. Before giving up is there someone at Ford I could deal with regarding this?

Sorry you have to go through this. Sounds like dealerships all over simply suck. Mine got the order correctly but didn’t update me at all during the process, Ford did. When I called about the fact it had been delivered to the distribution center they had no clue. Then when I called on the day Ford said it was at the dealer. The dealer had no clue. Then they told me it would be later that day I could pick it up. I told them I’d be there in an hour and they should have it ready. Then they got upset when I gave them the review they deserved. Even called and asked ā€œwhat can I do to make this right?ā€ Lololol WTF?

YEAH, NO.

This order was for an EB, which was all that was available, would prefer the Hybrid. Maybe they will honor their 3k off MSRP? Doesn't seem likely though.

One of my hybrid XLs (CP360 and hitch) moved to "in production" today.

It's Grainger Ford in Iowa, seem to have good reputation. I put the order in when they were offering 3k under MSRP and could only order the EcoBoost.
Granger got 58 allocations this month. They have several hundred orders. I think this is probably an educated guess that based on the OP's place on the list and the number of allocations they are likely to see over the next couple of months, the OP's truck will get bumped to 2023.

The way that email is worded suggests an "educated guess" not "this is fact from Ford." Granger has a good reputation. They also have a lot of orders. I ordered the last week ordering was open with Granger. I have had no specific communication from them about my order but I am likely to be bumped to 2023 along with a lot of late orders if allocations continue as they have been and Ford also sticks with roughly FIFO for orders with each dealer.

Maybe all of us with late January Granger orders will get lucky, but I doubt it. I'm fine with being bumped to 2023, I knew that was a possibility when I ordered. YMMV.

Yes you can call the marketing department and talk directly to them. I did that many times while I was waiting for my Maverick. They are very nice and helpful people. You will get information from the horses mouth and it will be a nice conversation. I found many times my dealer really had no idea what the story really was.

I'm at the very end of the list for my dealer (Late afternoon, January 27th order) and received a build date this Wednesday of 8/16/22.

Perhaps I'm getting the very last 2022 Maverick?

As others have pointed out, no one knows yet where the '22-to-'23 cutoff will be, not even Ford. While your dealer speculation may end up being right, he does not know that *right now*, and therefore is making his dealership look shady.

What is the local reputation of this particular dealer? If it's good, then they should be willing to work with you on converting your current order to a '23, AT THE PROPER TIME.
In my opinion finding a dealer with a good reputation is rare.
