Just looking at your truck. Im going black lug nuts and want to drop the 5 lug cover. For just the small circle piece. Is that a ford piece set of 4. And can they be sanded. Do I can paint atlas blue. ThanksI don’t know if it’s low enough profile for your wants, but I use the EGR Superguard deflector and like it quite a bit. It doesn’t rattle at highway speeds, is made of sturdy material, and sits up just high enough to divert some (certainly not all) bugs from my windshield. It protects the hood very well and, because it’s slightly raised, allows me to wash underneath it. The holes lined up perfectly for me, though I’ve heard of other folks having some issues with their holes being slightly misaligned. Installation was pretty easy. I like this one better than the AVS, which sticks out too far for my tastes. I looked for it on their website to paste the link but couldn’t find it, but I saw listings from Amazon, eBay, and RealTruck. Here are some pictures for reference. Best of luck!
I went with the Husky Liners as well as some of the others on here, (because I didn't want the automotive grade adhesive tape on my paint, and it would also not be easily removable with the tape) -they call it a high profile but is still close to the hood. It is held on with plastic trim rivets in factory holes. I was not comfortable with the plastic rivets because I take it off to run thru car washes - so I used 4 rivnuts in the factory holes so that it is held on with screws and I can remove as needed.

I've put off making a decision for now. I had planned a cross-state trip up to NoCal for a reunion, and wanted extra protection for the hood. Ultimately, I decided not to travel 1,000 miles, spend $$$ on a room and 2 or 3 tankfuls of gas, not to mention the price of a deflector/protector. I have a tape-on I purchased back in 2022 and most members here say they have had no problem with that type if correctly installed, so I might stick (no pun intended) with that. Thanks for asking.

Would be nice if they showed an installation video.I put an EGR Matte Black deflector on which screws to friction fit brackets that are pressed on the leading edge of the hood. I think it looks way better than the stick on Ford one that came on my factory order 24 Lariat Tremor that I peeled off because there were signs of crap collecting under it. I like how there's enough room between the deflector and hood to clean between.

yes, it would be nice if the deflector sat a little bit lower to actually protect the front edge of the hood.

From what I can tell from your photos, it looks like it does cover the front edge of the hood, but I'm just looking at a photo and you have a first hand look at it. How much of the edge is exposed?

I was also looking at the photo and the way the tabs are that hook under the hood look like they set lower than the bottom

edge of the deflector so it appears from the photo that the deflector actually sits above the lip of the hood. If that’s true, that would be a bad design. Maybe the angle of the picture is just misleading.

This photo gives a much better look at how much of the front edge is exposed. Maybe the design of the deflector is such that it creates a wind deflection of anything that might be headed for that exposed edge. Or maybe I don't know what the heck I'm talking about.
