Anyone know of a low profile hood/bug deflector that doesn't attach using tape? I remember seeing a thread about a deflector that uses the Maverick's in place under hood attachments, but my club search came up with hundreds of threads that frankly would take me months to peruse. Tried Amazon, but only a couple of products showed up. I like Weather-Techs deflector, but it too is taped on.

Husky has a tape-less mount that sits a bit off the hood. It uses the pre-existing holes & clips under your hood to clip on. Easy to install & sturdy. Available at fine Husky Dealers worldwide for less than $99. My profile pic shows one.

I don’t know if it’s low enough profile for your wants, but I use the EGR Superguard deflector and like it quite a bit. It doesn’t rattle at highway speeds, is made of sturdy material, and sits up just high enough to divert some (certainly not all) bugs from my windshield. It protects the hood very well and, because it’s slightly raised, allows me to wash underneath it. The holes lined up perfectly for me, though I’ve heard of other folks having some issues with their holes being slightly misaligned. Installation was pretty easy. I like this one better than the AVS, which sticks out too far for my tastes. I looked for it on their website to paste the link but couldn’t find it, but I saw listings from Amazon, eBay, and RealTruck. Here are some pictures for reference. Best of luck!

I put an EGR Matte Black deflector on which screws to friction fit brackets that are pressed on the leading edge of the hood. I think it looks way better than the stick on Ford one that came on my factory order 24 Lariat Tremor that I peeled off because there were signs of crap collecting under it. I like how there's enough room between the deflector and hood to clean between.

Indeed, the Husky Liners Hood Shield attaches to factory mounting points under the hood by fasteners.

Feel free to DM me for a quote and shipping!

I’m interested in this also. I don’t want to stick things all over my vehicle.

I have an AVS Bugflector II on my Maverick. It uses screws to attach it to the hood, no tape.

Big plus for the Husky is that there are no screws to eventually rust or galvanically corrode with the aluminum hood.

Husky uses OEM style plastic “plugs” to secure into the existing holes on the underneath of hood. Smart design.

Ive had those on my vehicles before.... 2 things, the screws (if used) and mounting surface after a period of time rust. 2nd. Leaves, bugs, snow and dirt can collect between the deflector and the hood surface.

Love the taped down AVS version. So far on 2 different vehicles over 13yrs havent had any trapped debri or rust.

This is what mine looks like, it's a husky, it was a fairly easy install, I've been though 5 carwashes with no problem.

And how effective are they?
Once it's installed, it's not going anywhere. I've seen more than a few comments and posts about how it's done its job of keeping the debris off of the windshield. Beats a chip or a crack in the windshield!

AVS on mine. Got it from Real Truck. Fit my 22 and now my 25. Works good because I can see the water beads not moving on the hood while driving down the road. Easy plastic clip/screws to install. Did have to widen one hole to line up for install though.
