I understand. But I still censor it. I work with PHI/PII on a daily basis and so censoring anything that could lead to anything personally identifying is just default behavior. So far, the truck hasn't popped on Ford's website. After it does, I won't exactly bring attention to it.
and now, the whole exploding engine recall may affect your delivery. Man, what an odyssey. You are way ahead of me on this Maverick thing and I enjoyed your shared journey. Thank you for posting it. And please, continue it for those of us living in the "Clean, unscheduled" world.
And the stop delivery was for hybrids built before May 18. So, anything built now would be okay.
Bob, heard from a Ford employee that we may see the recall for the camera repair for Explorers, the end of this month -NOTE: this is non-official, hearsay...
Fun fact that I discovered in Adobe. Did you know that there is a "grey" box over the delivery address (the dealership) near the lower left of the window sticker? In line with the NHTSA notice which said letters would go out June 26 with dealers having the fix before then (so they can fix their own inventory first). But my Maverick will likely arrive before the end of the month. Hence the dilemma. I bought the Explorer because the Maverick was taking too long... and the Maverick may end up beating it.
So that just show the dealer information. Not exactly top secret info...
Ohh I agree. It isn't anything top secret. That being said, Ford seems to consider the dealer info to be sensitive, otherwise they would not had one of their crack Adobe folks adding a grey box to mask the data. Ha! I don't see the point and found it sort of funny when I discovered it.
My bad. I didn't see any scheduling emails go out yesterday and thought the recall said to stop deliveries of all hybrids until 4th quarter when a fix is figured out.
Nope, the stop-delivery was for any hybrid built before May 18. And I think Ford may be able to whittle that down some if they know why certain engines are a problem (was it one person in the plant not following procedures and so Ford only has to recall his engines). Anything built after that date presumably has the fix already applied and so there is no need to stop production or delivery.
